About the Role

Illuminate Communication is looking for a creative and organised Social Media Executive / Content Strategist to join our team. The role involves working across a diverse portfolio of brands and contributing to their social media strategy, content planning and day-to-day execution.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop monthly social media strategies and content calendars
- Plan content across Reels, posts, carousels and Stories
- Research social media trends, competitors and content opportunities
- Conceptualise creative ideas and campaigns for different brands
- Write captions, social copy, Reel hooks and basic campaign copy
- Plan and coordinate photo and video content shoots
- Create moodboards, references and content briefs for shoots
- Create social media grids along with the designers
- Brief and coordinate with designers, video editors and photographers
- Support with social media post creation when required
- Shoot basic photo/video content for social media when required
- Assist with creating simple, quick-form video/Reel content
- Manage client communication, feedback and content approvals




- Schedule and publish content across social media platforms
- Ensure monthly content and deliverables are completed as per timelines
- Review social media insights and performance to inform future content
- Maintain consistency in each brand's tone of voice and overall communication

Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in social media, content or digital marketing
- Agency experience preferred
- Strong understanding of Instagram, Reels and current social media trends
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Solid creative and visual sensibility
- Basic knowledge of shooting and creating social-first video content
- Basic knowledge of Canva or similar content creation tools is preferred
- Comfortable creating simple content independently when required
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and timelines
- Comfortable working collaboratively with clients and creative teams
- Basic understanding of social media analytics and reporting
