Success Criteria

- We understand good ITAM Practitioner performance as maintaining an accurate asset register and delivering transparent reports and analyses that support asset management decisions.

- It includes independently executing ITAM projects of moderate complexity or specific work streams within complex engagements, reliably gathering and validating data to identify trends and optimization opportunities, and effectively engaging stakeholders with timely issue resolution or escalation.

- It also includes supporting audit fieldwork with strong record integrity, conducting entry-level Financial Operations (FinOps) activities such as monitoring cloud spending, generating cost reports, identifying basic optimization opportunities, and supporting tagging initiatives.

- Additionally, it encompasses providing quality reviews and shares knowledge with Associate ITAM Practitioners.

Key Responsibilities

- Creates and maintains an accurate asset register using established tools, techniques, and processes, and produces reports and analysis to support asset management activities and decision-making.

- Supports ITAM data analytics by gathering and preparing data from multiple sources, applying analytical and statistical methods and tools to develop reports, assisting in identifying trends and insights to inform decisions and collaborating with team members to refine techniques and maintain data quality.

- Serves as a routine contact point with counterparties for contract management, supports the collection of contract performance data, and produces standard contract performance reports.

- Provides support on the use of existing ITAM methods and tools, configures and maintains them within a known context, creates and updates related documentation, and identifies and resolves basic tool-usage issues.

- Serves as a routine customer contact point handling diverse inquiries and service requests, performs initial investigation and diagnosis to resolve or escalate issues as appropriate, contributes to developing service standards and procedures, and assists in analysing service performance data to identify improvement opportunities.

- Executes and documents audit fieldwork per agreed standards,



maintains record integrity to satisfy audit trails, and identifies typical risk indicators with corresponding prevention measures.

- Provide project support, assist planning, scheduling, tracking, reporting with established tools; follow recommended solutions for proper documentation and communication; collaborate to gather updates, maintain records, ensure alignment; participate in boards, assurance, and quality reviews.

Key Activities

- Conduct comprehensive analysis of license entitlements, deployments, and usage patterns to identify compliance gaps, risks, and optimization opportunities; perform license reconciliations across multiple vendors and licensing models; calculate license positions and prepare compliance reports for client internal reviews and audit preparation; contributes to findings and actionable recommendations to stakeholders.

- Support asset lifecycle activities for assigned clients or asset categories, including planning and needs assessment, procurement support, request management, tracking and monitoring, renewals and fulfilment coordination, catalogue maintenance, and retirement processes.

- Implement and configure Software Asset Management (SAM)/ITAM tooling within defined areas of projects, including data preparation, integrations, and client enablement.

- Analyse entitlement and usage data to perform license reconciliations, compliance checks, and optimization scenarios.

- Assess data quality and review agreements/usage rights to validate reconciliation outcomes and recommendations.

- Produce recurring reports, strategic reviews, and support the planning of workshops that drive operational efficiency and value.

- Contribute to concurrent workstreams, resolve anomalies, track deadlines/effort, and perform quality assurance on outputs.





- Provides input to account teams and clients in pre-sales and via service desk escalations on licensing and tooling questions.

- Engage proactively with local account and solution sales teams to refine requirements and support shape solution delivery under guidance.

- Support sales motions with licensing expertise, scope/position ITAM offerings, and surface expansion/innovation opportunities.

- Contribute to and curate the ITAM knowledge base and process libraries, while supporting team onboarding through contributing documentation.

- Holds and actively maintains industry-recognized certifications aligned to their area of expertise.

Qualification, Skills And Experience

Education

Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in a related field (e.g. IT, Business or Finance) and can demonstrate equivalent work experience.

Qualifications

- Working knowledge of IT asset management including license reconciliation processes.

- Proficiency with an ITAM/SAM tool (e.g., ServiceNow, Flexera, USU).

- Knowledge of licensing models for one or two tier 1 vendors (Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, SAP, Salesforce) or multiple tier 2 vendors.

Certifications

- ITAM Tool certification (e.g. Flexera, ServiceNow, USU)

- IAITAM certifications (CSAM or CITAM)

- ITAMOrg certifications (ITAMF, SAMS, HAMS)

- ITIL Foundation

- FinOps Practitioner

- Vendor specific licensing or cloud certifications

Technical Skills

- Working knowledge of a SAM tool (SNOW, Flexera or Aspera, ELD) SNOW is Mandatory.

- Experience of IT tools (e.g. Microsoft SCCM, ServiceNow or SQL scripting)

- Fully conversant with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word)

- Intermediate AI prompting skills.

- Along with good excel knowledge.

- Good communication skills.
