We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern interested in CAD design, sheet-metal design, 3D modelling, fabrication, and product development. The role involves working on real-world mechanical projects from CAD modelling and drawings to fabrication, assembly, testing, and product improvement.

Significant

This is not a purely desk-based CAD internship. The candidate should be comfortable with practical mechanical work including fabrication, assembly, measurements, workshop/site visits, vendor coordination, and product testing. Candidates with solid practical projects and demonstrable CAD skills will be given preference.

Key Responsibilities:
Create 2D drawings, 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.
Design sheet-metal components, enclosures, brackets, panels, frames, and mounting structures.
Work on flat patterns, bend calculations, bend allowance/K-factor, and DFM.
Convert sketches and physical measurements into CAD models.
Assist with prototyping, fabrication, assembly, testing, and design modifications.
Coordinate with fabrication teams and vendors for manufacturability.
Participate in workshop/site visits, measurements, installation, testing,



and troubleshooting when required.
Maintain drawings, BOMs, revisions, and design documentation.

Required Skills
AutoCAD and Fusion 360
2D drafting and technical drawings
3D part and assembly modelling
Basic surface modelling
Sheet-metal design and flat-pattern development
Basic understanding of laser cutting, CNC cutting, and press-brake operations
Basic knowledge of DFM and engineering dimensioning
B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
Final-year students and recent graduates can apply.
Relevant academic, personal, internship, or industrial CAD/mechanical projects preferred.

Added Advantage: SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, Inventor, or Siemens NX.

Eligibility

Preferred Experience
Projects involving sheet metal, enclosures, product design, machine/component design, structural frames, fabrication, reverse engineering, CNC/laser cutting, 3D printing, or CAD-to-fabrication will be preferred.
Candidates may be asked to showcase CAD files, drawings, photographs, prototypes, or project reports.
