Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Pharmacy Manager – Purchase to manage the procurement of medicines, surgical items, medical supplies, and other pharmacy-related products. The role will be responsible for vendor management, purchase planning, inventory availability, cost control, and ensuring compliance with applicable pharmacy and procurement regulations.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and manage the purchase of medicines, surgical products, consumables, and medical supplies.
Coordinate with pharmacy, stores, medical, and finance teams to understand purchase requirements.
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and distributors.
Obtain quotations, compare prices, and negotiate the best commercial terms.
Prepare and process purchase orders according to approved requirements.
Ensure timely availability of fast-moving and critical medicines.
Monitor stock levels, minimum/maximum inventory, expiry dates, and slow-moving items.
Maintain and review vendor performance, pricing, credit terms, and delivery schedules.
Ensure proper documentation of purchase transactions and maintain accurate procurement records.
Coordinate with suppliers regarding shortages, replacements, returns, damages,



and near-expiry products.
Monitor market prices and identify prospects for cost savings.
Ensure purchases comply with company policies and applicable pharmaceutical regulations.
Support inventory audits and reconciliation of purchase and stock records.
Prepare regular purchase, consumption, stock, and cost reports for management.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with approved vendors.
Lead and supervise the pharmacy purchase team, where applicable.

Required Qualifications
B.Pharm / M.Pharm / D.Pharm or equivalent qualification.
Relevant experience in pharmacy procurement, pharmaceutical purchasing, or hospital pharmacy.
Valuable knowledge of medicines, surgical products, medical consumables, and pharmaceutical suppliers.
Robust negotiation and vendor-management skills.
Good knowledge of inventory and purchase management systems.
Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel and pharmacy/ERP software.

Preferred Experience
3–7 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical purchasing or hospital pharmacy procurement.
Experience in hospital, healthcare, retail pharmacy chain, or pharmaceutical distribution is preferred.
