About Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Test Automation Lead with solid technical leadership capabilities to drive automation strategy, framework development, and quality engineering excellence across an enterprise SaaS platform. The ideal candidate will be technology and language agnostic, comfortable working with Java and/or Python, and possess deep expertise in UI and API test automation, CI/CD, cloud technologies, and modern quality engineering practices.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong ownership mindset, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and the capability to independently drive technical solutions while mentoring and enabling team success.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable test automation frameworks for UI, API, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Define and drive automation strategy, framework architecture, standards, and quality engineering best practices.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to automation engineers.
- Collaborate with Development, Product, DevOps, and Cloud teams to ensure high-quality releases.
- Troubleshoot complex automation, integration, infrastructure, and environment-related issues.
- Implement and support Continuous Testing practices within CI/CD pipelines.
- Define quality metrics, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proactively remove technical roadblocks and enable team success through hands-on leadership.
- Evaluate and adopt modern automation tools, frameworks, and engineering practices.
Education / Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Quality Engineering and Test Automation, including experience in a technical leadership role.
- Good understanding of software engineering principles, test design techniques, and various testing methodologies.
- Strong hands-on programming experience in Java and/or Python with a language-agnostic mindset.
- Expertise in UI and API test automation using tools like Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber (BDD), and REST Assured or others.
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining automation frameworks at scale.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices using tools such as Jenkins and Bitbucket Pipelines.
- Experience working with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudWatch, or similar cloud technologies.
- Good to have hands-on experience with performance testing tools like JMeter and K6.
- Experience working in validated and regulated environments (Life Sciences, Healthcare, Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals, or similar domains) is preferred.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to independently unblock self and others while driving measurable outcomes.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
