About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Australia Payroll Specialist to join our growing payroll team. The ideal candidate will have solid knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, compliance requirements, and payroll processing. This is a fully remote role requiring excellent communication skills and the ability to work during Australian business hours.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Process end-to-end payroll for Australian employees on a weekly, fortnightly, and monthly basis.
Ensure payroll is processed accurately and within strict deadlines.
Maintain compliance with Australian payroll legislation, Fair Work requirements, Superannuation, PAYG, STP reporting, and relevant Awards/EBAs.
Calculate and process salaries, wages, overtime, allowances, tips, bonuses, leave entitlements, and termination payments.
Manage payroll reconciliations and reporting.
Handle employee payroll queries professionally and promptly.
Ensure accurate maintenance of employee payroll records.
Coordinate with HR, Finance, and clients regarding payroll-related matters.
Support payroll audits and compliance reviews.
Stay updated with changes in Australian payroll legislation and industry best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Essential
Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience processing Australian payroll.
Robust understanding of:
Fair Work legislation
Up-to-date Awards and Enterprise Agreements
Superannuation
PAYG withholding
Single Touch Payroll (STP)
Leave calculations and termination processing
Experience using payroll software such as Employment Hero Payroll, Xero Payroll, MYOB, or similar platforms.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
