About the Opportunity
We are hiring for a quick-growing climate-tech company developing next-generation industrial energy systems. The organisation is transitioning from R&D; to commercial deployment and is looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Assembly Engineer to support the assembly and integration of complex process systems.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Chemical Process Simulation Engineer with hands-on experience in OpenModelica/Modelica to develop, validate, and maintain dynamic and steady-state process simulation models. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and process equipment modeling.
Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
Hands-on experience with OpenModelica/Modelica
Robust knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer
Experience modeling process equipment such as heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, turbines, packed beds, and storage tanks
Familiarity with Equation of State (Peng-Robinson, SRK, Ideal Gas, etc.)
Ability to troubleshoot simulation convergence and initialization issues
Experience extracting and analyzing simulation results
Preferred
Experience with Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, gPROMS, or Dymola
Python/OMPython scripting
Knowledge of Git, FMI/FMU, and process control modeling
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain process simulation models in OpenModelica
Build and customize equipment models and thermodynamic property packages
Validate models using plant data and engineering calculations
Collaborate with process engineers to translate P&IDs; into simulation models
Troubleshoot numerical and convergence issues
Document models and maintain reusable simulation libraries
