Role & responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end architecture and design of Red Hat OpenShift platform across on-prem and/or cloud environments.
Define and implement the migration strategy from VMware-based infrastructure to OpenShift container platform.
Architect and oversee infrastructure components including compute, storage, virtualization, and OS layers.
Design and implement networking architecture including SDN, ingress/egress, load balancing, DNS, and service mesh.
Define and enforce platform security architecture including RBAC, IAM, network policies, secrets management, image security, and compliance controls.
Establish platform standards, governance, and best practices for containerization and Kubernetes workloads.
Collaborate with infrastructure, security, DevOps, and application teams to ensure seamless adoption.
Act as the primary technical authority and escalation point for OpenShift-related initiatives.
Provide advisory support to senior leadership and stakeholders on platform roadmap, scalability, resilience, and cost optimization.
Lead capacity planning, high availability, disaster recovery,



and performance optimization strategies.
Support automation initiatives using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines.

Required Skills & Experience
15+ years of IT experience with 8+ years in OpenShift/Kubernetes architecture.
Robust hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift (OCP 4.x preferred).
Proven experience leading VMware to OpenShift or virtualization-to-container migrations.
Deep knowledge of:
Kubernetes architecture and container orchestration
Infrastructure design (compute, storage, networking)
Enterprise networking (TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancers, firewalls)
Platform security and compliance frameworks
Experience with VMware vSphere and virtualization platforms.
Solid understanding of hybrid cloud architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP preferred).
Expertise in automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or similar.
Experience with CI/CD, DevSecOps, GitOps practices.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
