Plan and deliver Indian classical music lessons for PYP students.
Teach vocal and/or instrumental music according to the teachers specialisation.
Introduce students to age-appropriate concepts of melody, rhythm, pitch, beat, Raga and Tala.
Develop students listening and musical awareness.
Teach basic Indian music theory.
Develop students vocal or instrumental skills.
Conduct individual, group and ensemble activities.
Encourage creativity, musical exploration and self-expression.
Use age-appropriate songs, compositions and musical exercises.
Adapt lessons according to students age, ability and previous experience.
Create inclusive learning experiences for students with different musical backgrounds.
Encourage students to appreciate Indian musical traditions and cultural heritage.
Integrate music into interdisciplinary learning where appropriate.
Collaborate with homeroom teachers and the PYP team.
Contribute to Units of Inquiry where music has a meaningful connection.
Prepare students for assemblies, concerts, cultural celebrations and school productions.
Conduct rehearsals and ensemble practices.
Assess student participation, progress and musical development.
Provide constructive feedback to students.
Maintain appropriate records of student learning.
Communicate with parents when required.
Participate in staff meetings and curriculum planning.
Contribute to the schools performing arts and cultural activities.
Participate in career development.
Maintain a positive, engaging and inclusive music classroom.
