The Assistant Manager Diagnostics is responsible for managing the overall operations of the Diagnostics Department, ensuring effective patient service delivery, smooth coordination among clinical and support departments, optimal utilization of resources, and achievement of departmental revenue targets. The role involves supervising diagnostic billing, patient relations, consultant coordination, team management, quality compliance, and process improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of the Diagnostics Department and ensure smooth workflow.
Monitor patient registration, counselling, billing, investigations, reporting, and service delivery.
Coordinate with consultants, radiologists, laboratory personnel, nursing units, and other departments for seamless patient care.
Ensure timely completion of investigations and adherence to turnaround time (TAT) standards.
Supervise diagnostic billing activities, credit billing, corporate billing, and revenue collection processes.
Monitor departmental performance, patient footfall, revenue generation,



and service quality indicators.
Handle patient concerns, escalations, and service recovery initiatives.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards, and quality protocols.
Review and analyze operational reports, MIS data, and departmental performance metrics.
Manage manpower planning, shift scheduling, attendance monitoring, and team productivity.
Conduct staff training and support continuous career development.
Coordinate with marketing and business development teams to promote diagnostic services.
Ensure proper inventory management and availability of departmental resources.
Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, patient experience, and revenue growth.
Prepare periodic reports and present departmental performance updates to management.

Qualification
Graduate in any discipline.
MBA / MHA / MHM preferred.

Experience
5 to 8 years of experience in Hospital Operations, Diagnostics Operations, Healthcare Administration, or Diagnostic Centre Management.
