We are looking for a hands-on engineer to develop and prototype a high-speed sensorless BLDC motor controller for a 230 VAC professional angle grinder.

The candidate should be able to work across motor-control firmware, power electronics, inverter debugging, motor testing and prototype development.

Must-Have Skills

- Strong experience in BLDC/ PMSM motor control
- Hands-on experience with sensorless six-step/trapezoidal commutation
- Valuable understanding of BEMF zero-crossing, startup and open-loop to closed-loop transition
- Strong Embedded C experience
- Experience with dsPIC33 / STM32 / TI C2000 or similar motor-control MCU
- Experience with 3-phase MOSFET/IGBT inverters
- Experience with 300400 VDC / mains-powered motor drives
- Strong knowledge of:

1. PWM and dead time
2. current sensing and current limiting
3. stall/locked-rotor protection
4. overcurrent, thermal and voltage protection
5. gate-driver circuits

- Strong oscilloscope and laboratory debugging skills
- Ability to independently bring a motor controller from prototype to working product

Key Responsibilities

- Study and characterize an existing BLDC controller
- Develop sensorless motor-control firmware
- Optimize startup, commutation and speed control
- Implement current, stall,



temperature and voltage protections
- Select and validate MOSFET/IGBT and gate-drive components
- Debug inverter and motor waveforms using oscilloscope/current probes
- Develop and test a working prototype on the actual angle-grinder motor
- Support PCB revisions and production validation

Preferred Experience Experience in any of the following is highly preferred:

- Power tools
- Angle grinders
- High-speed BLDC motors
- Appliances
- Pumps/blowers
- Industrial motor drives

dsPIC33 motor-control experience will be a major advantage.

Experience

5+ years preferred, with demonstrated hands-on BLDC/PMSM controller development.

Qualification

B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Power Electronics, Embedded Systems or related field.

Important

This is a hands-on R&D; role. Candidates should have personally developed and debugged BLDC/PMSM motor controllers, not only worked on general embedded firmware or PCB design.
