Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for Senior DevOps Engineer role. DevOps engineers act as infrastructure developers, and they have hands-on involvement in building deployment and testing pipelines, automated provisioning of cloud and on-promise infrastructures, and infrastructure support services such as monitoring.

Reponsibilities:

- Works as a member of the solution delivery team collaborating with several stakeholders including IT services to ensure that the team and client have an understanding of operational requirements, and takes shared responsibility for designing and implementing infrastructure for delivering and running software services
- Takes ownership of solutions infrastructure including automation tools and frameworks (CI/CD pipelines) to provide reliability, security, scalability, automation, performance, availability, and cost management
- Hands-on implementation and configuration work to get projects off the ground, evaluate and drive improvements to existing infrastructure
- Act as an interface between product (software/applications) development and operational end-users. Enable solutions to be deployed in the cloud, bundle up solutions and make them available to the client

Qualifications

Qualifications:

- Engineering / IT Degree
- Relevant Microsoft Azure Certification

Knowledge, skills, and experience:

- Minimum 5 years experience in a related role
- Experienced practitioner, able to work unsupervised and experience of general supervision of more junior colleagues
- Working experience with infrastructure orchestration, deployment automation, monitoring tools and SaaS cloud
- Positive understanding of the practical application of DevOps principles, Agile methods, and Infrastructure as Code
- Strong knowledge of automation and the ability to write code using scripting and programming languages such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, Shell, JavaScript, Java
- Working experience in building development,



testing/staging and production environments/infrastructure via scripts and automate configurations and deployments following Continuous Delivery principles and practices.
- Experience with CI/CD tools, Git and build pipelines and hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and Jenkins
- Solid understanding of Security, Network protocols, Testing, Cloud Quality tools and DevSecOps principles. Hands on experience integrating security in SDLC from the beginning and applying Continuous Inspection practices including SAST and DAST.
- Hands-on experience in using configuration management tools
- Hands-on experience in building, designing, monitoring, and maintaining cloud-based applications in Azure. Solid understanding of security and cost implications of cloud configurations.
- Hands-on experience to build and handle VM’s and Docker Containers
- Experience administering application servers, web servers, and databases
