Job Title: Domain Data Analyst – Retail

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Domain Data Analyst with deep expertise in the Retail industry to drive data-driven decision-making across business functions. The role requires a strong blend of analytical capabilities and retail domain understanding to generate actionable insights, improve business performance, and support strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Domain Understanding

Partner with retail business teams (Merchandising, Supply Chain, Store Operations, E-commerce) to understand key challenges and objectives

Translate business problems into data-driven analytical frameworks

Provide domain-led insights aligned with retail KPIs and business priorities

Data Analysis & Insights

Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities across sales, inventory, pricing, and customer behavior

Perform root cause analysis for business issues such as declining sales, stockouts, or margin leakage

Deliver actionable recommendations to improve revenue, margins, and operational efficiency

Reporting & Visualization

Design and develop dashboards and reports for business stakeholders

Track and monitor key retail metrics such as:

Sales, footfall, conversion rates

Inventory turnover, stock availability

Basket size, customer lifetime value

Ensure timely and accurate reporting to support decision-making

Advanced Analytics & Use Cases

Support demand forecasting, assortment planning,



and pricing optimization initiatives

Drive customer segmentation and personalization strategies

Collaborate with data science teams on AI/ML use cases

Stakeholder Management

Act as a bridge between business, technology, and analytics teams

Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership

Influence decision-making through data-backed storytelling

Data Governance & Quality

Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across systems

Work with engineering teams to improve data pipelines and availability

Key Skills & Competencies

Robust proficiency in:

SQL, Excel

Data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)

Working knowledge of Python/R (preferred)

Experience working with large datasets and data warehouses

Domain Expertise (Retail)

Strong understanding of

Retail operations (store & online)

Merchandising & assortment planning

Supply chain & inventory management

Education

Bachelor’s/master’s degree in engineering, Statistics, Economics, or related field
