About the RoleWe are looking for a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer / Analytics Architect with 12+ years of experience to lead and drive our enterprise data platform initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Microsoft Fabric, hands-on proficiency with MongoDB, and a strong command of analytics, ETL/ELT pipelines, and database performance management. This is a senior individual contributor / technical leadership role responsible for designing scalable, reliable, and high-performing data solutions.

Key ResponsibilitiesMicrosoft Fabric & Analytics

- Architect, design, and implement end-to-end data solutions using Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Synapse Data Engineering, Data Warehouse, OneLake, Power BI integration).
- Build and manage lakehouse/warehouse architectures within Fabric, ensuring optimal performance and governance.
- Design semantic models and support self-service analytics/reporting via Power BI on top of Fabric.
- Define and enforce data modeling standards (dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas) for analytics consumption.

ETL / Data Pipeline Development

- Design, build, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data from multiple source systems.
- Implement data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration workflows ensuring data quality, consistency, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline failures, latency issues, and data discrepancies.
- Establish best practices for CI/CD in data pipeline deployments.

MongoDB & Database Management

- Provide hands-on administration, query optimization, and schema design for MongoDB (and other NoSQL/relational databases as applicable).
- Design and maintain effective indexing strategies to optimize query performance and search efficiency.
- Perform database monitoring, capacity planning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Manage database security, backup/recovery, replication, and high-availability configurations.

Governance, Monitoring & Optimization

- Set up proactive monitoring, alerting,



and logging for databases and data pipelines (query performance, index health, storage utilization, job failures).
- Conduct regular performance audits and capacity assessments; recommend and implement optimizations.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards.

Leadership & Collaboration

- Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and cross-functional engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and review code/architecture for best practices.
- Contribute to technical strategy, tool evaluation, and roadmap planning for the data platform.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- 12+ years of overall experience in Data Engineering, Database Administration, or Analytics Engineering roles.
- In-depth, hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric — Data Factory, Data Warehouse, Lakehouse (OneLake), Notebooks, Power BI integration.
- Solid hands-on experience with MongoDB — schema design, aggregation framework, indexing, sharding, replication.
- Solid understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, data pipeline orchestration, and data integration patterns.
- Strong grasp of analytics fundamentals — dimensional modeling, KPI/metric design, reporting architecture.
- Proven experience in database monitoring, index optimization, and search/query performance tuning.
- Working knowledge of SQL (advanced level) and at least one scripting language (Python/PySpark preferred).
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred, given Fabric ecosystem) — Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL.
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD practices for data engineering.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders.

Good to Have
- Experience with other NoSQL/relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Cassandra).
- Exposure to Power BI DAX, semantic modeling, and enterprise reporting tools.
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and metadata management tools (Microsoft Purview).
- Relevant certifications (Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer, MongoDB Certified DBA/Developer).
