This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Accountant, International Accounting based in India. This is an opportunity to join a global, remote-first environment and play a key role in maintaining accurate and compliant international financial operations.
You will oversee core accounting activities across fixed assets, prepayments, accruals, intercompany transactions, operating expenses, and general ledger accounts.
The role has strong visibility across month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, as well as audit and financial reporting activities.
You will contribute to regulatory compliance and ensure accounting policies and internal controls are consistently applied.
The position also offers the opportunity to improve processes, strengthen ERP workflows, and help resolve complex accounting issues across teams.
You will collaborate with cross-functional and international stakeholders in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, initiative, and continuous improvement are highly valued.
The role is remote within India, with occasional travel for team, project, or customer meetings.
Accountabilities
- Manage accounting transactions and prepare accurate general ledger reconciliations, including bank reconciliations.
- Record, reconcile, and monitor intercompany transactions while ensuring appropriate accounting treatment.
- Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities in line with established timelines and controls.
- Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with Ind AS requirements.
- Support and manage internal and external audit activities, including providing documentation and resolving audit queries.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly flux reports, investigate significant variances, and clearly communicate explanations to relevant stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve accounting issues while advising cross-functional teams on the financial and accounting implications of business activities.
- Continuously improve accounting and closing processes, including ERP workflows and other systems-enabled activities.
- Ensure global accounting policies, procedures, and agreed internal controls are consistently implemented and followed.
- Support regulatory compliance activities, including applicable tax and statutory filings and returns.
Requirements
- CA, CPA, ACCA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- 3–4 years of experience in Record-to-Report, General Ledger, or operational accounting, preferably within a multinational organization.
- Hands-on experience managing month-end close processes and day-to-day accounting operations.
- Strong working knowledge of Ind AS, IFRS, and US GAAP.
- Practical knowledge of TDS/withholding tax, GST, the Companies Act, and other relevant Indian regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Experience working with ERP systems, preferably Oracle or SAP.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
- Ability to prioritize effectively, work independently, and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across functions and with international stakeholders.
- Big 4 audit or accounting experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with AI-powered productivity tools, Power Query, or similar technologies is an advantage.
- Knowledge of accounting and compliance requirements across APAC markets beyond India is desirable.
