About the Role
We are building the next-generation Global Satellite Constellation for highly precise and secure Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) using Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. We are seeking an RF & Communications Engineer to lead the development of Inter-Satellite Link (ISL). The role involves development of RF communication architectures, modem design, synchronization techniques, link performance analysis, etc. for space-based ISL.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, simulate and analyse RF ISL architectures under realistic orbital conditions for LEO satellites.
- Develop communication waveforms, modulation and coding schemes for satellite crosslinks.
- Perform RF link budget analysis for inter-satellite communication scenarios.
- Design synchronization, acquisition and tracking algorithms for ISL terminals.
- Work on Doppler compensation and carrier/frequency synchronization for high-dynamics LEO environments.
- Develop ranging and time-transfer techniques using RF crosslink signals.
- Support design improvements and component selection for hardware realisation of ISL.
- Evaluate spectrum allocation, interference and coexistence considerations for ISL operation.
- Support hardware integration, laboratory testing and realtime ground and space testing.
- Collaborate with other subsystems like navigation, timing, mission planning etc. during the entire ISL development.
Required Skills & Experience
- Master’s or PhD in Electronics and Communications Engineering, related field.
- Robust understanding of RF and digital communication systems including modulation, coding, synchronization and wireless link design.
- Experience with RF system analysis, link budget calculations and communication system simulations using tools.
- Knowledge of satellite communication systems, orbital dynamics effects on communication links and Doppler compensation techniques for high-dynamics environments.
- Familiarity with RF hardware concepts including transceivers, antennas, frequency synthesizers, signal generators and laboratory test equipment for communication system validation.
Why Join Us
- Build the future of global navigation — work on a mission that redefines how the world connects, navigates, and operates in the space age
- Be part of the founding journey — shape the architecture of a global satellite constellation from the ground up and work directly with the Founding Team at VyomIC
- Collaborate with high profile advisors — learn from and engage with senior experts who bring decades of experience
- High-impact, high-ownership role — your work directly influences real-world systems that demand precision, security, and scale
- Grow with the mission — as the constellation scales, so do your opportunities for leadership, innovation, and long-term career growth
