Regional Head Project Delivery & Asset Management (Solar)
Preferred base location: Kakinada / Eluru / Srikakulam (Andhra Pradesh)
Frequent travel across Andhra Pradesh project sites and periodic travel to Maharashtra will be required.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly driven professional to lead the execution, commissioning and long term operational management of our utility-scale solar portfolio. This is a strategic ownership role responsible for delivering projects from engineering through commercial operation while ensuring long-term asset performance, operational excellence and contractual compliance.
The successful candidate will lead the commissioning of our Andhra Pradesh portfolio while simultaneously overseeing the operations and maintenance of commissioned projects in Maharashtra through regional teams.
The role requires strong technical competence, commercial understanding, stakeholder management skills and proven leadership in managing large-scale renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Delivery & Execution
- Lead end-to-end execution of assigned utility-scale solar projects.
- Ensure achievement of project milestones within approved timelines and budgets.
- Drive project planning, execution strategy and recovery plans wherever required.
- Monitor project progress across multiple locations on a daily basis.
- Identify execution bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure timely Commercial Operation Date (COD) of all projects.
1. Engineering & Technical Oversight
- Review engineering designs from an owner's perspective.
- Validate plant layouts, electrical systems, evacuation infrastructure and engineering deliverables.
- Coordinate closely with design consultants, EPC contractors and internal engineering teams.
- Ensure adherence to applicable technical standards and industry best practices.
- Review design optimizations and recommend improvements wherever beneficial.
1. EPC Contractor Management
- Act as the primary owner-side interface for EPC contractors.
- Monitor contractual obligations and execution commitments.
- Review construction schedules and contractor resource deployment.
- Conduct regular progress reviews and site inspections.
- Drive timely closure of punch points.
- Ensure quality, productivity and contractual compliance throughout project execution.
1. Commercial & Contract Management
- Monitor EPC contracts, vendor agreements and project deliverables.
- Review contractor bills and certify physical progress.
- Evaluate change orders, commercial variations and contractual claims.
- Ensure adherence to commercial obligations under all project contracts.
- Protect company interests through effective contract administration.
1. Cost & Budget Control
- Monitor project budgets and expenditure.
- Review project cost variances.
- Identify cost optimization opportunities.
- Track potential commercial risks and cost overruns.
- Support management in financial planning related to project execution.
1. Commissioning & Grid Synchronization
- Lead all commissioning activities until successful project completion.
- Coordinate testing,
inspections and statutory approvals.
- Manage synchronization with DISCOM and associated agencies.
- Ensure timely completion of all commissioning documentation.
- Facilitate smooth project handover to Operations & Maintenance.
1. Operations & Asset Management
Post commissioning, continue to own overall asset performance.
Responsibilities include
- Oversee Operations & Maintenance teams across Maharashtra through regional leads.
- Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance is carried out effectively.
- Monitor plant availability, generation, Performance Ratio (PR) and CUF.
- Improve long-term asset reliability and operational efficiency.
- Drive timely closure of warranty claims and defect rectifications.
- Ensure plants continue to operate as per design throughout their lifecycle.
1. Multi-Site Portfolio Management
Lead execution across multiple districts including:
- Kakinada
- Eluru
- Srikakulam
- Other future project locations
Develop systems to monitor multiple sites simultaneously while ensuring consistency in execution standards across the portfolio.
1. Government & External Stakeholder Coordination Coordinate with:
- DISCOMs
- Transmission utilities
- CEIG
- Government authorities
- Local administration
- Landowners
- OEMs
- Vendors
- Consultants
- Statutory authorities
Support timely approvals and resolution of project-related issues.
1. Lender & Independent Engineer Coordination
Coordinate with lenders, Independent Engineers (LIE), technical consultants and auditors. Support:
- Site inspections
- Technical reviews
- Progress verification
- Compliance submissions
- Documentation
- Closure of observations
1. Quality Assurance
- Ensure adherence to company quality standards.
- Monitor installation quality.
- Conduct periodic quality reviews.
- Drive timely closure of non-conformities.
- Ensure complete project documentation.
1. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture across all project sites.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and HSE requirements.
- Review safety performance of EPC contractors.
- Lead investigation and corrective actions for significant incidents.

Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams comprising:
- Civil Engineers

Ensure timely and accurate reporting across the project portfolio.

Desired Candidate Profile
Education
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or Energy Engineering.
- Postgraduate qualification in Project Management or MBA shall be an added advantage.
Experience
- 12–18 years of overall professional experience in Power, Renewable Energy, EPC or Infrastructure
projects.
- Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in utility-scale solar projects.
- Proven experience in executing projects from engineering through commissioning.
- Experience managing operational solar assets after COD.
- Prior ownership of utility-scale solar portfolios aggregating over 100 MW is highly preferred.
- Experience managing geographically distributed projects across multiple locations.

Travel & Location The selected candidate will be based in one of the Andhra Pradesh project regions, preferably Kakinada, Eluru or Srikakulam. Extensive travel across project locations in Andhra Pradesh and periodic visits to Maharashtra will form an integral part of the role.
Candidates whose permanent residence is outside the assigned project region may be permitted to visit their hometown for up to three (3) days per month, subject to prior management approval and project requirements, until successful commissioning of the Andhra Pradesh portfolio.
