Looking for an embedded Linux person in Surat.
Someone who's fine when a board shows up with nothing but a schematic PDF and a boot log that dies at "Starting kernel ..."
Roughly the work:
– schematics + datasheets, then getting the thing to actually boot. u-boot, device tree, kernel config, the usual
– drivers for whatever's hanging off i2c/spi/uart. in my case that's mostly displays and a couple of SBCs
– Yocto or Buildroot, cross toolchains, keeping image builds reproducible instead of "works on my machine"
– real debugging. ftrace, perf, kgdb, and a logic analyzer for when the kernel isn't the one lying to you
– git hygiene. small commits, reviewable PRs, bug reports that say what broke instead of "not working"
C is non-negotiable. Python/bash for tooling.
Having worked on more than one arch helps a lot (arm64 + x86, or riscv) — half the pain is the stuff that only breaks on one of them.
I don't care about degrees. Send me a driver you wrote, your GitHub, a patch you got merged upstream, or a bug that took you three days to corner. That tells me more than a CV will.
