Position Overview

- We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on QA Technical Architect to be part of our organization’s Testing Centre of Excellence (TCoE).

- This role is 100% technical and focuses on independent coding along with deep expertise in automation architecture, framework design, and advanced problem-solving.

- The ideal candidate must have extensive experience with Katalon Studio, strong proficiency in Java-based automation development, and the ability to architect, code, maintain, and enhance enterprise-grade automation frameworks.

- A strong foundation in Selenium WebDriver concepts is essential, as Katalon’s web automation engine is built on Selenium.

- This role plays a critical leadership position in defining automation architecture, enabling best practices, and driving quality engineering excellence across projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Test Strategy &

- Architecture

- Define and own the enterprise test automation strategy, framework architecture, and roadmap for functional, regression, API, mobile, integration, and non-functional testing.

- Architect scalable, modular, and reusable automation frameworks and solutions aligned with enterprise standards and reusable across projects.

- Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and design patterns based on long-term scalability and maintainability and project needs.

- Establish and enforce automation architecture standards, coding conventions, design principles, and best practices for test automation, CI/CD integration.

- Define strategies and guardrails for non-functional testing (performance, security, reliability) within the automation ecosystem.

- Enable shift-left testing by embedding automation early in the development lifecycle.

Engineering &

- Tools

- Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Katalon Studio (Web, API, Mobile).

- Write, review, and optimize Java-style Groovy automation code within Katalon’s JVM-based scripting model.

- Build advanced Custom Keywords, utilities, shared libraries, helper components, and dynamic object strategies.

- Hands-on expertise in automation frameworks/tools:

- Katalon Studio (primary tool)

- Selenium WebDriver concepts (deep conceptual understanding + practical experience)

- API Automation (Katalon API tests, REST frameworks, Postman)

- Mentor QA engineers in advanced test automation practices, scripting and tool usage.





- Integrate automation frameworks with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins) and enforce pipeline quality gates.

- Produce high-quality technical documentation, architectural diagrams, reusable templates, walkthroughs and training guides.

- Proactively identify gaps in automation and propose creative solutions to improve efficiency and reliability.

- CI/CD Integration

- Architect and maintain GitLab-based repo structure, including branching strategies, versioning, merge standards, and repository governance.

- Build scalable CI/CD pipelines for automated execution of smoke, regression, E2E, and API automation suites.

- Manage environment-specific automated test execution using Dockerized Katalon Runtime Engine for isolated, stable test runs.

- Implement pipeline stages with conditional execution logic, including handling critical vs non-critical tests, automated rollback triggers, quality gating, notifications and analytics to ensure deployment safety.

- Implement dynamic environment variables, secrets management, and parameterized pipelines to enable reusable and flexible pipelines across multiple projects.

- Improve pipeline stability by analysing failures, environment issues, configuration mismatches, and cross-project dependencies.

- Technical Leadership

- Stay updated with emerging trends in automation, DevOps, Katalon features, quality engineering, and best practices.

- Continuously evaluate and recommend process optimizations, new frameworks, architectural improvements,



and tooling enhancements.

- Act as a technical authority and partner with architects, developers, product owners, and QA teams across projects.

- Own end-to-end POCs to assess new automation solutions and provide recommendations for enterprise adoption.

- Act as the central QA architectural point of contact within the TCoE, collaborating with Automation Leads, Delivery teams, and Architecture stakeholders.

- Work in strong partnership with the TCoE Automation Lead Engineer to define automation approach, framework design, execution standards, and scalability strategy.

- Engage with DF Platform Architects to align QA automation architecture with platform design, integrations, and system constraints.

- Collaborate with Cloud, Platform, and Software Engineering teams to support cloud-native testing, CI/CD integration, and environment-specific automation requirements.

- Interface with Domain, Platform, and Solution Architects to align QA strategy with solution architecture, non-functional requirements, and cross-system dependencies.

- Serve as the QA architectural bridge across teams, ensuring consistent quality standards, automation reuse, audits and governance across all TCoE-onboarded initiatives.

Education Qualification

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field

7. IT Skills

- 11+ years of QA/testing experience, with at least 4+ years as a QA Technical Architect.

- Strong hands-on expertise in Katalon Studio for test automation across Web, API, and Mobile including custom keyword development and advanced scripting.

- Advanced programming skills in Java (must) and Groovy (used as Katalon’s primary scripting language).

- Proficiency in Jira for requirements, defect tracking, and integration with QA tools and test management platform Jira Xray.

- Excellent ability to architect, implement, and maintain large scale automation frameworks across multiple projects with CI/CD integration.

- Understanding of test methodologies: BDD/TDD, continuous testing, and test design strategies.

- Excellent technical leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.

8. Languages

- Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written) – mandatory.

Pay: ₹2,000,000.00 - ₹2,500,000.00 per year
