Role Description:

The Purchase Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at Elcen Machines Pvt Ltd in Vadodara. This role is responsible for end-to-end procurement activities, including vendor identification, evaluation, and selection, as well as negotiating contracts and pricing for raw materials, components, and services.

The Purchase

Manager will plan and manage purchase orders, ensure timely delivery to support production schedules, and maintain optimal inventory levels in coordination with stores, production, and planning teams. Daily tasks include monitoring supplier performance, resolving delivery or quality issues, maintaining accurate procurement records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations. The role also involves cost optimization, supporting sourcing of new suppliers, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in the supply chain.

Responsibilities:

- Managing end-to-end purchase activities
- Identifying, evaluating, and developing reliable suppliers
- Negotiating prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules
- Ensuring timely availability of materials as per production requirements
- Monitoring supplier performance, quality, and lead times




- Maintaining purchase records, orders, and vendor documentation
- Working closely with production, stores, quality, and accounts teams
- Identifying opportunities for cost optimisation without compromising quality

Qualifications:

- Strong procurement and sourcing skills, including vendor management, negotiation, and contract handling.
- Experience with inventory management, material planning, and coordination with production and operations teams.
- Knowledge of supply chain processes, commercial terms, and basic legal aspects related to purchasing.
- Ability to analyze costs, compare quotations, and support cost-reduction and efficiency initiatives.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with ERP or purchase management software.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Relevant experience in manufacturing, preferably in electric motors or heavy engineering, is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification in materials or operations management is beneficial.
- Strong ethical standards, attention to detail,



and the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
