Programme Delivery Manager – OpenAI Trainer Programme

Region: India

Locations: Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad or Delhi NCR

Reports to: Global Programme Director

Engagement: Full-time, 2-year fixed-term contract

Travel: Regular travel across India as required

Position Summary:

The India Programme Delivery Manager is responsible for the successful execution, people leadership and operational performance of the OpenAI Master Trainer Programme across India, supporting one of the world’s leading frontier AI organisations.

Based in one of the programme’s major Indian hubs, this role will lead and support a distributed cohort of up to 20 OpenAI Master Trainers operating across Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Delhi NCR.

The Programme Delivery Manager acts as the primary link between global programme strategy and in-country execution, ensuring that trainer performance, workforce deployment, training quality, operational delivery, stakeholder engagement and programme governance remain aligned with global objectives.

This is a highly visible leadership role combining people management, programme delivery, workforce operations and client engagement.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a high-performing trainer cohort, maintaining consistent delivery standards across multiple locations, identifying operational risks early and ensuring the India programme operates effectively at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead, coach and support a distributed team of up to 20 OpenAI Master Trainers across Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Delhi NCR.
- Establish clear performance expectations and drive accountability against programme KPIs, learner feedback, delivery quality and utilisation targets.
- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, coaching sessions, performance reviews and development planning.
- Identify individual and cohort-wide capability gaps and coordinate appropriate coaching, enablement or remediation.
- Support trainer onboarding, certification, readiness and continuous professional development.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive and high-performance culture across a geographically distributed team.
- Recognise high performance and proactively address performance, behavioural or engagement concerns.
- Monitor trainer wellbeing, engagement and retention risks and escalate concerns where appropriate.
- Own the successful day-to-day execution of the OpenAI Master Trainer Programme across India.
- Ensure programme delivery remains aligned with global standards, client expectations and agreed programme objectives.
- Maintain consistent execution and learner experience across all five delivery hubs.
- Translate global programme requirements into practical in-country delivery plans.
- Identify delivery risks, operational constraints and improvement opportunities and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement across programme processes, trainer effectiveness and operational performance.
- Ensure programme changes,



new requirements and delivery standards are clearly communicated and adopted across the India trainer cohort.

Workforce Planning & Deployment:

- Oversee trainer capacity, utilisation, deployment readiness and geographic coverage across India.
- Work closely with global resourcing and programme coordination teams to align trainer availability with forecast training demand.
- Support trainer scheduling and deployment across hubs, customer locations and programme activities.
- Identify capacity shortages, utilisation risks and workforce requirements early.
- Support workforce planning, succession planning and future hiring requirements based on programme demand.
- Coordinate onboarding and mobilisation of new trainers as the programme grows.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement:

- Act as the primary in-country operational contact for programme stakeholders and delivery partners.
- Build strong working relationships with client contacts, partners, trainers and internal programme teams.
- Participate in programme planning, prioritisation and resource allocation discussions.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for India-based delivery or trainer issues.
- Resolve operational challenges quickly and escalate material risks to the Global Programme Director where required.
- Provide clear, structured updates on programme performance, opportunities, risks and workforce matters.
- Represent the India programme in regional and global programme meetings as required.

Training Quality & Delivery Standards:

- Ensure trainers consistently deliver to required programme, technical and facilitation standards.
- Monitor learner feedback, trainer evaluations and delivery outcomes.
- Identify trends across learner feedback and implement improvement initiatives where required.
- Support quality assurance activities including observation, coaching, calibration and trainer certification.
- Promote consistency in delivery methodology while allowing trainers to adapt appropriately to different audiences and customer environments.
- Ensure trainers remain current with evolving programme content, technical requirements and delivery methodologies.

Operational Management:

- Oversee the operational performance of the programme across all India locations.
- Monitor training schedules, attendance, cancellations, trainer readiness and event execution.
- Coordinate with global programme operations teams to ensure delivery requirements are met.
- Ensure operational issues affecting customer delivery are identified and resolved promptly.
- Support programme logistics,



regional coordination and travel planning where required.
- Maintain visibility across upcoming programme demand, trainer availability and operational constraints.

Performance Reporting & Governance:

- Track and analyse key programme metrics including:
- Trainer utilisation
- Training delivery volume
- Learner satisfaction
- Trainer performance
- Delivery quality
- Trainer readiness and certification
- Operational issues and escalations
- Workforce capacity
- Produce regular programme performance updates for the Global Programme Director.
- Identify trends, risks and opportunities from programme data and recommend appropriate actions.
- Support executive programme reviews, quarterly business reviews and workforce planning discussions.
- Ensure accurate and timely programme reporting across the India operation.

Qualifications

- 5–7+ years of relevant professional experience across programme delivery, people leadership, training operations, professional services, consulting, enablement, customer success or field operations.
- Demonstrated experience directly managing and developing teams.
- Experience leading distributed, remote or multi-location teams.
- Strong experience in performance management, coaching and employee development.
- Demonstrated ability to manage operational delivery across multiple workstreams or locations.
- Strong stakeholder-management and relationship-building capability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational, prioritisation and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving global programme environment.
- Strong analytical capability with experience using operational data and KPIs to drive decisions.
- Based in India with valid Indian working rights.
- Ability to travel regularly between Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Delhi NCR, as well as customer locations where required.

Eligibility & Engagement:

Candidates must hold valid Indian working rights.

The position is offered as a full-time, 2-year fixed-term engagement through the programme’s appointed Employer of Record in India, in accordance with applicable Indian employment and statutory requirements.

Employees will receive all applicable statutory and standard employment advantages.

The role includes a company laptop and equipment provided to programme specification.

Approved business travel and programme-related travel expenses will be covered in accordance with programme policy.

Regular travel between programme hubs and customer locations across India will form part of the role.
