PRODUCTION MANAGER – PLASTIC SCRAP MANUFACTURING & RECYCLING

1. JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Production Manager to manage our plastic scrap manufacturing and recycling operations. The candidate will be responsible for production planning, manpower management, quality control, machine efficiency, material utilization and achieving daily production targets.

The ideal candidate should have practical knowledge of plastic scrap processing and recycling operations and should be capable of managing production activities independently.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Production Planning & Management

- Plan and monitor daily, weekly and monthly production activities.
- Achieve production targets within the required time and quality standards.
- Monitor production output, machine utilization and efficiency.
- Identify production delays and take immediate corrective action.
- Minimize production downtime, wastage and material losses.

Plastic Scrap Processing

- Supervise plastic scrap sorting, segregation and processing.
- Monitor processes such as grinding, washing, drying, agglomeration and granulation, as applicable.
- Ensure proper segregation of different types and grades of plastic.
- Monitor contamination, moisture and material quality.
- Ensure consistent quality of finished recycled material.

Manpower Management

- Manage production workers and shift teams effectively.
- Allocate manpower according to production requirements.
- Monitor worker productivity, attendance and discipline.




- Ensure smooth shift handover and communication.

Quality Control

- Ensure finished products meet required quality specifications.
- Monitor quality at different stages of production.
- Minimize rejection, contamination and quality-related losses.
- Coordinate with the quality team for resolving production issues.
- Maintain consistency in the final product.

3. MACHINE & MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT

- Monitor the performance of production machinery and equipment.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team for machine breakdowns.
- Minimize machine downtime and production interruptions.
- Ensure preventive maintenance is carried out as scheduled.
- Ensure machines are operated safely and efficiently.

4. MATERIAL & INVENTORY CONTROL

- Monitor incoming plastic scrap and raw-material availability.
- Control material consumption and unnecessary wastage.
- Maintain proper production and material records.
- Coordinate with stores and purchase teams for material requirements.
- Monitor finished goods and production stock.

5. REQUIRED QUALIFICATION

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Production, Mechanical, Plastic/Polymer Engineering or related field.
- 3–7 years of relevant production experience.
- Experience in plastic recycling,



plastic scrap processing or manufacturing will be preferred.

6. REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALITIES

- Good knowledge of plastic materials such as HDPE, LDPE, PP, PET, PVC, ABS, etc.
- Solid production planning and execution skills.
- Good manpower and team-management abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Target-oriented and result-driven approach.
- Ability to work under production pressure.
- Basic knowledge of computers and production reporting.
- Responsible, disciplined and proactive attitude.

7. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs) The candidate will be evaluated based on:

- Achievement of production targets.
- Production efficiency and machine utilization.
- Reduction in material wastage and rejection.
- Reduction in machine downtime.
- Product quality and consistency.
- Manpower productivity.
- Proper material utilization.
- Timely and accurate production reporting.

8. PREFERRED CANDIDATE Candidates having hands-on experience in plastic scrap recycling/manufacturing, particularly in grinding, washing, drying, agglomeration or granulation, will be given preference.
