About the Role:

We are looking for a Political Communications Associate to manage X and Instagram. The role will involve tracking political developments, creating engaging content around surveys and current affairs, managing daily social media operations, and monitoring audience engagement.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Indian politics, elections and current affairs, along with good content writing, research and social media skills.

Key Responsibilities:

● Manage day-to-day X and Instagram handles, including posting, scheduling, stories, reels, polls and threads.

● Track political developments, elections, trends and public narratives and identify relevant content opportunities.

● Create engaging posts, threads, captions, reels scripts, polls, carousels and explainers.

● Convert survey findings, data and research into simple and engaging social media content.

● Conduct quick research and fact-checking to ensure accuracy of published content.

● Monitor comments, mentions, trends and audience sentiment.

● Create basic social media creatives and short-form videos.

● Track social media performance and provide insights to improve content and engagement.

● Coordinate with research, design and other teams to ensure timely content delivery.

Strong understanding of Indian politics, elections, governance and current affairs.

● Content Writing: Ability to write clear, engaging and platform-specific content.

● Research & Fact-Checking: Ability to quickly research, verify and simplify information.

● Social Media: Good understanding of X and Instagram, trends, engagement and analytics.

● AI Proficiency: Familiarity with tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity.

● Creative Skills: Basic proficiency in Canva and video-editing tools such as CapCut.

● Trend Awareness: Ability to identify emerging conversations and relevant political trends.

● Attention to Detail: Ability to work quickly while maintaining accuracy and consistency.

Preferred Qualifications:

● Bachelor's/Master's degree in Political Science, Journalism, Mass Communication, International Relations, Public Policy, Social Sciences or a related field.

● Prior experience in social media, political consulting, journalism, digital media or election-related work is preferred.

● Experience managing professional or political social media handles will be an advantage.
