Role Description<
/strong>
W&M; Design Studios is looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to take ownership of the complete execution cycle of our furniture orders — from production planning and material readiness to quality, dispatch and installation.
This is not a desk-only managerial role. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working closely with the factory floor, supervisors, vendors and design team to ensure that every order is executed on time, to specification and to W&M;'s quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Take complete ownership of order execution from approved drawing to final installation.
Prepare and monitor daily, weekly and monthly production schedules.
Coordinate and manage the existing Production, Purchase, Data/Planning and Installation Supervisors.
Track every live order against its committed delivery date.
Ensure drawings, materials, hardware and approvals are available before production.
Identify production bottlenecks and resolve delays proactively.
Monitor manpower allocation and improve shop-floor productivity.
Introduce stage-wise quality checks and reduce rework/rejection.
Coordinate with the Designer to ensure production drawings and specifications are clear.
Coordinate material requirements with Purchase and maintain better inventory/consumption control.
Plan dispatch and installation according to project commitments.
Conduct regular production review meetings and maintain a clear order-status MIS.
Control wastage, unnecessary overtime, rework and operational inefficiencies.
Report directly to Management with explicit status, problems and action plans.
What We Are Looking For
Must Have
5–8+ years of experience in furniture manufacturing, interiors, modular furniture, woodworking or similar production operations.
Strong experience in factory/production planning and team coordination.
Ability to understand furniture drawings, BOQs and specifications.
Experience managing supervisors, workers, contractors and vendors.
Strong planning, follow-up and problem-solving ability.
Good working knowledge of Excel/MIS and production tracking.
Strong ownership and accountability for deadlines.
Preferred
Experience in custom/premium furniture manufacturing.
Knowledge of carpentry, polishing, upholstery, hardware and finishing processes.
Experience implementing SOPs, QC checkpoints, production dashboards or 5S.
Ability to improve productivity and reduce material wastage/rework.
How Success Will Be Measured The Operations Manager will be expected to improve:
On-time order completion
Production planning and schedule adherence
Material readiness
Labour productivity
Quality and reduction in rework
Coordination between departments
Dispatch and installation timelines
Management visibility through accurate MIS The Person We Want
We are looking for an execution-focused problem solver, not simply someone who delegates work.
The right candidate should be able to walk onto the factory floor, understand what is delayed and why, coordinate the responsible teams, take corrective action and ensure the order reaches the customer as committed.
If you believe in ownership, discipline, craftsmanship and getting things done, we'd like to hear from you.
