Role Description The Nursing Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based at Navjeevan Nursing Care Centre in Nagpur.
The Nursing
Assistant will support patients with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, feeding, positioning, and mobility assistance, including care for bedridden and post-surgery patients.
Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, reporting changes in patient condition to nursing staff, assisting with wound and bed sore care under supervision, and maintaining a clean and safe patient environment.
The role also involves helping with basic documentation, supporting rehabilitation routines, and providing compassionate emotional support to patients and families.
The Nursing
Assistant will work closely with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality, dignified care.
Qualifications
- Practical skills in basic patient care, including assistance with personal hygiene, feeding, mobility, and positioning.
- Ability to monitor and record vital signs, observe patient conditions, and promptly report concerns to clinical staff.
- Knowledge of infection control practices, safe handling techniques, and maintaining a clean and organized care workplace.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact respectfully with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Emotional resilience, empathy, and a patient-focused mindset, especially when working with critically ill or long-term care patients.
- Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by patient care needs.
- Completion of a Nursing Assistant, GNM, ANM, or equivalent healthcare support training program preferred.
- Previous experience in a hospital, nursing home, or long-term care setting is an advantage.
