Ostello is a live language learning marketplace connecting students with verified educators across Spoken English, IELTS, French, German, and Spanish — think "the Uber of live language learning." We're profitable, growing quick (targeting ₹8 Cr GMV over the next 12 months), and expanding into the UAE market. We've cracked paid acquisition (4.2x blended ROAS on Meta); now we're going all-in on owned, compounding organic growth through Search, Answer Engines, and Generative Engines.
Why This Role Exists

Search behavior is shifting fast — from traditional Google queries to AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews) and voice/chat-based discovery. Most companies are still playing catch-up. We want to build this muscle early and own it, rather than bolt it on later. This is a from-scratch, high-ownership role — you'll be the first dedicated hire in this function, working directly with the founder.





We're deliberately looking for someone raw and hungry over "experienced but stale." If you're early in your career, self-taught, obsessive about how search and AI answer engines actually work, and want to build a category-defining skill (GEO barely has senior practitioners yet — you can be one of the first), this is for you.

What You'll Own

SEO (Search Engine Optimization): On-page, technical, and content SEO for ostello's website and landing pages (India + upcoming UAE market) — keyword research, site structure, internal linking, page speed/Core Web Vitals, schema markup.
AEO (Answer Engine Optimization): Structuring content so it gets pulled into featured snippets, People Also Ask, voice search results, and direct answer boxes.
GEO (Generative Engine Optimization): Optimizing how Ostello shows up (and gets cited) in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, and other LLM-powered answer surfaces — a genuinely new disc
