Role Purpose
The Mobilizer will identify, counsel and enrol eligible candidates in NIIT Foundation’s skill-development programmes. The role involves community outreach, awareness campaigns, relationship-building, candidate verification and follow-up to support enrolment, attendance, course completion and placement outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Community Mobilization
- Identify potential learners from the target communities and beneficiary groups.
- Conduct field visits, household outreach, community meetings and awareness sessions.
- Explain available courses, eligibility requirements, training schedules, certification and employment opportunities.
- Distribute approved communication material and promote programmes through appropriate online and offline channels.
- Organise mobilization camps, counselling sessions and enrolment drives.
- Ensure that information shared with candidates is accurate and does not create unrealistic expectations about jobs, salaries or perks.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build relationships with community leaders, educational institutions, NGOs, youth groups, government bodies and other local stakeholders.
- Establish referral networks to generate a sustainable pool of eligible candidates.
- Coordinate with placement and industry partners to understand local employment opportunities.
- Represent NIIT Foundation professionally at community and stakeholder events.
- Maintain regular communication with referral partners and provide appropriate programme updates.
Candidate Counselling and Enrolment
- Counsel candidates and, where appropriate, their parents or guardians about the programme and career pathways.
- Assess candidates’ interests, eligibility, availability and willingness to complete the training.
- Support candidates in selecting suitable courses aligned with their aptitude and career goals.
- Collect and verify documents required for registration and enrolment.
- Ensure that enrolment forms and supporting records are complete and accurate.
- Obtain required consent before collecting, storing or sharing personal information.
- Maintain the confidentiality and security of candidate data and documents.
Learner Follow-up and Retention
- Follow up with enrolled candidates before the commencement of training.
- Track attendance during the initial and critical stages of the course.
- Contact absent or at-risk learners and understand the reasons for disengagement.
- Work with trainers, counsellors and centre staff to resolve barriers affecting attendance or course completion.
- Conduct home visits or counselling interventions when appropriate and authorised.
- Encourage learners to participate in assessments, certification, interviews and placement activities.
- Support post-placement follow-up and retention initiatives when required.
Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain daily records of outreach activities, leads, counselling, enrolments and follow-ups.
- Update candidate information accurately in prescribed systems, trackers or management-information platforms.
- Submit daily, weekly and monthly mobilization reports within defined timelines.
- Maintain evidence of field activities, events and stakeholder engagement.
- Track the conversion of leads into enrolments and course commencements.
- Protect beneficiary information and use it only for authorised programme purposes.
Coordination
- Coordinate with trainers, placement officers, centre staff and project teams to align mobilization with batch requirements.
- Share candidate profiles and expected enrolment numbers with the centre team.
- Participate in review meetings and provide updates on achievements, challenges and local trends.
- Support induction, orientation and batch-launch activities.
- Inform supervisors promptly about concerns that may affect enrolment targets or programme quality.
Key Performance Indicators
- Number of eligible leads generated.
- Lead-to-enrolment conversion rate.
- Achievement of batch and enrolment targets.
- Candidate attendance on the first day and during the initial training period.
- Learner retention and course-completion rates.
- Accuracy and completeness of candidate documentation.
- Quality and diversity of referral partnerships.
- Timeliness and accuracy of reports.
- Compliance with ethical mobilization and data-protection requirements.
Educational Qualifications
- Graduate in Social Work, Sociology, Community Development, Education, Business Administration or a related discipline is preferred.
- Candidates with a relevant diploma or Class XII qualification and strong community-mobilization experience may also be considered.
Experience
- One to three years of experience in community mobilization, admissions, counselling, field sales, social development or skill-development programmes.
- Experience working with youth and underserved communities is desirable.
- Familiarity with local educational institutions, community networks and employment opportunities will be an advantage.
Required Skills
- Strong community outreach and relationship-building skills.
- Effective counselling, persuasion and interpersonal abilities.
- Clear verbal communication in Hindi and the local language; basic English proficiency is desirable.
- Ability to explain programmes clearly to candidates and their families.
- Basic proficiency in smartphones, Microsoft Office, online forms and digital reporting tools.
- Good documentation, record-management and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work independently in the field and collaborate with centre teams.
- Familiarity with the local area and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned geography.
