Veterans India is looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Manager Finance, Accounts, NGO Compliance & Grant Administration to maintain robust financial controls, transparent accounting, statutory compliance and donor/grant reporting systems. The candidate will support the organisations fundraising and programme teams by ensuring that financial documentation, budgets, project accounts, utilisation records and compliance requirements are always accurate and ready for donor, CSR and audit review.
Key Responsibilities Maintain day-to-day books of accounts.
Record all receipts, payments, programme expenses and advances.
Maintain complete supporting bills and vouchers.
Conduct regular bank reconciliation.
Prepare monthly income and expenditure statements.
Maintain programme-wise and project-wise accounting.
Develop budgets in coordination with programme and fundraising teams.
Track budget versus actual expenditure.
Maintain donor-wise and grant-wise financial records.
Prepare financial information for CSR and grant proposals.
Support donor due diligence.
Prepare financial utilisation statements.
Coordinate preparation of Utilisation Certificates wherever required.
Maintain documentation relating to applicable NGO registrations.
Track statutory filing and renewal deadlines.
Coordinate with Chartered Accountants, auditors and consultants.
Support annual statutory audit.
Maintain financial records required for CSR due diligence.
Monitor grant agreement financial conditions.
Maintain an audit trail for every receipt and expenditure.
Develop appropriate internal financial controls.
Ensure no unauthorised financial transaction is processed.
Support invoice generation and collection tracking.
Maintain receipts and acknowledgement records.
Prepare management financial dashboards.
Digitise finance documentation wherever practical.
Coordinate financial reporting for funded projects.
Support preparation of grant closure documentation.
Maintain procurement documentation where required.
Preferred Experience NGO accounting Trust/society/nonprofit accounting CSR project finance Grant accounting Project accounting Audit and compliance Financial reporting Preferred Skills Accounting software such as Tally or equivalent Excel and financial analysis Budget preparation Bank reconciliation NGO compliance understanding Audit documentation Grant administration High attention to detail Integrity and confidentiality Digital workflow management Key Performance Indicators Performance will be assessed on:
Accuracy of accounts Timeliness of monthly closing Bank reconciliation completion Compliance deadlines met Donor reports submitted on time Zero unexplained transactions Audit readiness Documentation completeness Project-wise financial accuracy Budget versus actual reporting * Financial due diligence readiness Candidate Profile Candidates from Commerce, Finance, Accounting or related backgrounds are preferred.
Experience with NGOs, trusts, societies, nonprofit organisations, CSR-funded projects or grant administration will be an advantage.
