- Ensuring safety: Line supervisors ensure that employees and products meet safety standards, and that all operations comply with safety regulations. They may also investigate accidents.

- Managing production: Line supervisors monitor production lines and ensure that production goals are met. They may also create work schedules, assign tasks, and train recent employees.

- Maintaining quality: Line supervisors ensure that products meet quality standards.





- Communicating: Line supervisors communicate with employees, upper management, and other managers.

- Maintaining records: Line supervisors may maintain records of operations, incidents, and safety violations.

- Identifying issues: Line supervisors identify issues in operational effectiveness and develop solutions.

- Performing maintenance: Line supervisors may perform general maintenance or janitorial duties.

Line supervisors may also need to have knowledge of line maintenance and construction functions, safety procedures, and line construction drawings.
