Must Have:

Experience with Java 11 or later (Java 17 and 21 preferred).

Proficiency with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and deep understanding of Spring Annotations and Java-based configurations.

Strong understanding of JPA/Hibernate.

Strong understanding of SQL and relational database management systems (Oracle, MySQL).

Strong understanding of Authentication and Authorization mechanisms and protocols such as JWT, OAuth 2.0, SAML etc.

Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, Swagger, etc.

Ability to define APIs using Swagger/OpenAPI specifications.

Proficiency in Git and version control workflows.

Experience with Maven/Gradle build tools.

Proficiency with JUnit, Mockito, or other testing frameworks.

Proficiency in development and management of REST APIs.

Knowledge of security concepts such as data-at-rest encryption, data-in-transit encryption.

Knowledge of OWASP top 10 vulnerabilities.

Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, BuildPiper or similar and code quality tool such as SonarQube.

Solid understanding of containerization (Docker).

Knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki).

Knowledge of Kafka (topics, partitions, consumer groups, stream processing).

Robust ability to design both High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to lead a team of minimum 3-5 people with high quality deliverables.

Ability to perform code review and mentor the team on coding standards and best practices.

Good to have:

Knowledge of on-premises deployment preferably using OpenShift Container Platform (OCP).

Knowledge of OCP configurations for achieving fault tolerance, scalability, high availability etc.

Knowledge of prompt engineering and previous experience of working with AI code assistants for code generation and code review.

Basic knowledge of Quarkus framework.

Knowledge of documentation tools – MS Office, Visio, draw.io

Knowledge of front-end technologies such as angular.

Knowledge of Service Mesh (Istio).

Knowledge of API gateway.

Information Technology and primarily from Financial Services industry.

Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.

Build microservices which aligns with the design principles laid out by organization.

Participate in code review and ensure that high quality code is delivered.

Collaborate with DevOps team to ensure smooth deployments on Kubernetes/OpenShift (OCP).

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across environments.

Work closely with solution architect and development manager for the translation of proposed high-level solutions to detailed technical solutions and deliver it end-to-end.

Contribute to the project documentation including high-level design, low level design, API specifications etc.

Manage a team of at least 3 -5 members ensuring high quality deliverables.

Participate in sprint planning and estimations.

Drive development of various PoCs including scope, high level design, low level design and PoC development.
