Role Overview

We are looking for a Java Squad Lead who is a strong hands-on Java specialist and an experienced technical leader capable of leading a self-sufficient engineering squad.

As a Squad Lead, you will drive engineering decisions, guide a team of 3–6 developers, and take ownership of delivering product features from design through deployment. You will work closely with the Product Owner to understand feature requirements, drive technical estimations, resolve complex engineering challenges, and ensure high-quality delivery.

This role is ideal for a strong individual contributor who has transitioned into technical leadership and enjoys solving complex engineering problems while mentoring and enabling a team.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, estimate, and orchestrate squad-level work execution.
- Envision, design, develop, code-review, test, and deploy software solutions.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership throughout the product development lifecycle.




- Guide the squad through complex technical challenges and engineering decisions.
- Lead and mentor a team of 3–6 developers.
- Translate product requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
- Collaborate closely with the Product Owner on feature expectations, estimations, priorities, and delivery.
- Ensure adherence to engineering best practices, Agile methodologies, and quality standards.
- Build a cohesive, self-sufficient squad and drive successful delivery of committed objectives.

Required Skills

- 8–12 years of experience in software product development using Java technologies.
- Strong hands-on expertise as an individual contributor in Java-based technologies.
- Proven experience leading a technical team of 3–6 developers.
- Strong experience in designing and developing scalable software products.
- Good understanding of Microservices architecture.
- Experience with API-first, Headless, and open-interface-based approaches.
- Hands-on exposure to AWS-based solutions.
- Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in automation/service testing and unit testing.
- Strong understanding of software design principles and engineering best practices.
- Ability to articulate and communicate complex technical designs and architectural decisions.
- Practical experience working in Agile development environments.
- Robust estimation, planning, and execution skills.
