Role Description This is a full time Hydraulic Engineer role based in Chennai, offered in a hybrid work model with some flexibility for work from home.
The Hydraulic
Engineer will design, analyze, and optimize hydraulic systems and water-related infrastructure for building and civil projects. Daily responsibilities include performing hydrological and hydraulic calculations, preparing technical drawings and reports, and supporting project planning and design reviews. The role involves coordinating with civil, structural, and architectural teams, ensuring designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and environmental regulations.
The Hydraulic
Engineer will also participate in site visits,
assist in troubleshooting during construction, and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems and mechanical engineering principles, with the ability to apply them to building and infrastructure projects.
- Expertise in water engineering and water resource management for urban, industrial, or infrastructure developments.
- Proficiency in hydrology, including rainfall-runoff analysis, flood estimation, and drainage design.
- Experience using relevant engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, hydraulic modeling tools such as HEC-RAS, EPANET, or similar).
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in calculations and documentation.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to a hybrid work environment.
- Familiarity with local and international standards and regulations related to water infrastructure and environmental compliance is an advantage.
