Roles and Responsibilities :

Mandatory Skills

1. Category management expertise in Home Decor, Furniture & Kitchen — assortment planning, sourcing, pricing, seasonal trend management

2. Working knowledge of Digital/Electronics category merchandising

3. Vendor & supplier sourcing and negotiation (domestic and import)

4. Product lifecycle management — current launches, SKU rationalization, discontinuation

5. Pricing strategy & margin management (GMV, ASP, contribution margin)

6. Inventory and OTB (Open-to-Buy) planning

7. Online catalog and listing management

8. Digital visual merchandising (homepage/category page placements)

9. Sales/GMV forecasting and category P&L; ownership

10. E-commerce metrics knowledge (conversion rate, ATC, RTO, return rates)

11. Cross-functional coordination with Marketing, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Tech teams

12. Strong people management — hiring, training, performance management at scale

Leadership across multiple categories (primary + secondary) simultaneously

14. Senior-level stakeholder and vendor negotiation experience

15. Data-driven decision making and competitor benchmarking

16. Budgeting and cost control

17. Proven large team management (Category Managers, Asst. Buyers, Ops Executive) — candidate should be able to state exact team size/span of control

Job Requirements :

- 15-30 years of experience in retail merchandising or a related field (e.g., category management).

- Proven track record of success in managing multiple categories across various retail channels.

- Strong understanding of furniture industry trends, products, and market dynamics.

- Excellent analytical skills with ability to interpret data insights for informed decision-making.
