Role Description This is a full-time, remote Google Cloud Intern (unpaid) role focused on supporting cloud-based cyber intelligence and security initiatives. The intern will assist in configuring and managing Google Cloud resources, monitoring cloud environments, and contributing to the implementation of secure architectures and best practices. Day-to-day tasks may include working with cloud dashboards and logs, supporting basic incident analysis, documenting configurations and procedures, and collaborating with technical mentors on research and pilot projects in AI Cyber and advanced security solutions.
The role also involves learning and applying Google Cloud fundamentals,
participating in internal knowledge-sharing sessions, and contributing to reports or presentations that support ongoing prevention, detection, and rapid response efforts.
Qualifications
- Cloud fundamentals: foundational understanding of cloud computing concepts, preferably with exposure to Google Cloud services (Compute, Storage, IAM, networking).
- Cybersecurity awareness: interest in cyber defense, threat landscapes, and basic security principles such as access control, encryption, and secure configuration.
- Technical skills: familiarity with Linux or Windows administration, basic networking concepts, and scripting or programming (e.g., Python, Bash, or similar) is beneficial.
- Analytical and research skills: ability to gather information from technical documentation, analyze cloud and security-related data, and summarize findings clearly.
- Collaboration and communication: robust written and verbal communication, ability to work effectively in remote teams, and openness to feedback and mentorship.
- Education: current enrollment in or recent completion of a program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Additional strengths: curiosity about AI in cybersecurity, willingness to learn new tools and platforms, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
