Job title: Geotechnical Engineer

Summary

Langan is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to support project needs across India, the Middle East, London, and New York. The individual will assist in preparing technical reports, specifications, plans, and in designing foundations, retaining structures, and other geotechnical aspects of construction. This role provides an opportunity to collaborate cross-functionally on premier international projects.

Job Responsibilities

- Coordinate subsurface investigations, perform field observations, and assist in geotechnical report writing.
- Prepare standard logs and field forms, including drilling and test pit logs, field investigation daily reports, and chain of custody forms.
- Design deep foundations, support of excavation, and underpinning systems.
- Perform engineering analysis and evaluations, including settlement analysis, liquefaction assessments, and lateral pile analysis.
- Assist the Project Manager with proposal writing, fieldwork coordination, and project management support.
- Perform inspections of geotechnical construction activities as needed.
- Perform fieldwork in India as required.
- Work collaboratively with international teams.
- Work flexible schedule as required.




- Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering is required. Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering is strongly preferred.
- 1 to 4 years of experience in geotechnical investigations, design, and construction inspections.
- Office experience with investigation and fieldwork coordination, geotechnical report preparation, and specification writing.
- Prior field experience in subsurface investigations, earthwork, driven and drilled pile foundation construction, load testing, footing subgrade preparation and backfill inspection, ground improvement, support of excavation systems, and retaining wall design and inspection is preferred.
- Desired software knowledge: gINT, Slide/SLOPE/W, PLAXIS, LPILE, GRLWEAP, MSEW, and SHAKE.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to perform fieldwork in India as required.
- Flexible to travel if needed.
