About The Role The Design Engineer will play a crucial role within the Industrial Valves ETO (Engineer-to-Order) group engineering team at CIRCOR India, based in Coimbatore. This position involves supporting the creation and development of detailed design documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), 3D CAD models, and engineering drawings for various valve projects. The candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as production, supply chain, quality, project management, and application engineering to develop cost-effective and innovative design solutions.

The role requires a high level of proficiency in 3D modeling and drafting, preferably using SolidWorks, and an understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering standards.

The Design

Engineer will report directly to the Head of Engineering for Industrial Valves and work under the guidance of the Engineering Manager in Germany, ensuring alignment with global standards and best practices.

Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.



A minimum of five years of relevant experience in mechanical design and drafting is required, with at least two years specifically in control valves or related products. Hands-on experience in modeling and drafting valve components using CAD software such as SolidWorks is mandatory.

Familiarity with engineering standards such as ASME Y14.5 for GD&T;, and knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, casting, and welding, is highly desirable. The candidate should demonstrate solid analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently. Excellent communication skills in English are essential, and proficiency in German is advantageous but not mandatory.

The role also requires a good understanding of codes and standards applicable to valves and control valves.

Responsibilities

- Develop and prepare detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for various valve projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to engineering standards.
- Create and update engineering documentation, ensuring all drawings and models meet the latest standards and company guidelines.
- Support engineered-to-order (ETO) activities by designing control valves and related components that meet customer specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, procurement, and project management to ensure designs are manufacturable, inspectable, and within cost targets.
- Perform tolerance analysis, fit and clearance checks, and stress/strain calculations to validate design integrity.




- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing lead times for BOM, model, and drawing creation, thereby increasing productivity.
- Participate in Kaizen events and problem-solving activities to enhance overall process efficiency and quality.
- Manage and document drawing revisions and updates, ensuring traceability and compliance with standards.
- Support manufacturing and quality assurance teams during production and inspection phases to ensure design intent is maintained.
- Maintain effective communication with suppliers and internal teams to resolve design issues promptly.
- Willingness to travel as required to support project execution and supplier engagement.
