Job Summary Highly motivated Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in mechanical equipment design, structural design, and stress analysis. The candidate will be responsible for developing innovative and cost-effective designs, preparing manufacturing drawings, performing engineering calculations, and validating designs through finite element analysis (FEA). The role requires close coordination with manufacturing, procurement, quality teams to ensure successful execution of engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Design

- Design mechanical equipment, assemblies, and fabricated structures.
- Develop detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings.
- Perform engineering calculations for mechanical components.
- Optimize designs for manufacturability, assembly, and cost.
- Select suitable materials and standard components.

Structural Design

- Design welded steel structures, platforms, support frames, and machine foundations.
- Perform structural calculations considering static and energetic loads.
- Prepare fabrication drawings and bill of materials (BOM).
- Ensure compliance with applicable design standards and codes.

Stress Analysis (FEA)

- Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for mechanical and structural components.
- Evaluate stress, deformation, fatigue, buckling, and vibration.
- Validate designs using analytical calculations and simulation.
- Recommend design improvements based on simulation results.

Documentation

- Prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
- Prepare detailed fabrication and machining drawings.
- Generate Bills of Materials (BOM).




- Maintain engineering documentation and revision records.

Project Coordination

- Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement, quality, and site teams.
- Support vendor development and technical discussions.
- Provide engineering support during fabrication, assembly, installation, and commissioning.

Required Technical Skills

- Excellent knowledge of machine design principles.
- Strong understanding of welded structures and fabricated equipment.
- Experience in stress analysis and finite element methods.
- Good understanding of mechanical components such as bearings, shafts, gears, couplings, chain drives, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of material selection and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with IS, ASME, DIN, ISO, and other relevant engineering standards.

- SolidWorks
- AutoCAD / ACTCAD
- SolidWorks Simulation / ANSYS
- Autodesk Inventor (preferred)
- Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
