Brief description of scope: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Desalination Engineer to join our Water/wastewater treatment team. The successful candidate will participate in the planning, design, and review of seawater and brackish water desalination projects, supporting all project phases from feasibility studies and concept design through detailed design and construction support and in coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires strong technical knowledge of reverse osmosis (RO) desalination systems, water treatment processes, and engineering design practices. The engineer will also assist in treatment process’ optimization and value engineering, and in ensuring compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.

Educational Background : Bachelors/master’s degree in civil/environmental/ mechanical engineering

Industry Experience: 4 to 7 years’ experience in the desalination/RO sector, ideally with experience in / familiarity with:

- Concept, preliminary and detailed design of SWRO desalination plants, BWRO desalination plants and water treatment and reuse facilities
- Membrane desalination processes
- RO system design and optimization
- Pretreatment and post-treatment processes
- Water chemistry and scaling control
- Energy recovery systems (ERDs)
- Chemical dosing systems
- Familiarity with international codes and guidelines (AWWA, WEF, WHO, etc.)




- Knowledge of process design parameters, mass balances, and system optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with hydraulic profiles for desalination plants
- Creating PFDs and P&IDs;
- Preparing performance specifications and design-build tender documents.
- Design review of EPC or Design-Build projects.
- Experience in large-scale municipal desalination projects is an advantage.
- Familiarity with cost estimations/BOQs
- Design drawings for desalination plants, equipment layouts
- Familiarity with mechanical, civil, and structural considerations in treatment plants’ design
- Familiarity with flow control systems, including valves, actuators and instrumentation

Software Proficiency :
- Familiarity with desalination design software such as WAVE, ROSA, IMSDesign, and other membrane modeling tools
- Knowledge of one or more design tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D

Soft Skills :
- Interpersonal skills and cooperative mindset (teamwork is a must)
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
