Role Overview The Data Modeler will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and governing metadata models within Informatica Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC) and Metadata Command Center (MCC). The role focuses on enterprise metadata modeling, catalog configuration, lineage enablement, glossary management, and metadata quality to support data governance and data quality initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical metadata models within Informatica CDGC.

- Define and manage data entities, attributes, relationships, hierarchies, and ownership models for enterprise data assets.

- Create and maintain metadata models to support cataloging, governance, data discovery, lineage, and impact analysis requirements.

- Configure Metadata Command Center (MCC) for metadata ingestion, catalog source onboarding, and source system integration.

- Design metadata relationships across databases, applications, ETL processes, APIs, BI platforms, and cloud data platforms.

- Develop and maintain business glossary models, data domains, critical data elements (CDEs), data dictionaries, and modeling standards.

- Define metadata mappings between source systems and CDGC catalog objects.

- Configure custom metadata attributes, classifications, relationship types, and governance-related metadata in CDGC.

- Build, validate, and maintain end-to-end technical and business lineage models.

- Perform metadata analysis, impact analysis, dependency mapping, and catalog validation using CDGC lineage capabilities.

- Support metadata integration from Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, SAP, Salesforce, and cloud platforms through MCC connectors.

- Collaborate with Data Architects, Data Stewards, Data Governance teams, and business stakeholders to implement enterprise metadata models.

- Perform metadata quality checks, model validation, and resolution of catalog inconsistencies.

- Define and maintain data governance standards, naming conventions, metadata ownership practices,



and CDGC/MCC best practices.

Required Skills

- Hands-on experience with Informatica Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC).

- Strong working knowledge of Informatica Metadata Command Center (MCC).

- Experience in enterprise metadata modeling, metadata ingestion, catalog source configuration, and connector-based onboarding.

- Knowledge of business glossary design, data domains, critical data elements, data dictionaries, and governance metadata.

- Experience with data lineage, technical lineage, business lineage, impact analysis, and dependency mapping.

- Understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management standards, stewardship processes, and data ownership models.

- Strong SQL and database concepts, including relational databases and cloud data platforms.

- Exposure to Informatica IDMC services such as CDI, CAI, IDQ, and MDM is preferred.

- Experience with Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, SAP, Salesforce, and cloud platform metadata integration.

Experience and Qualifications

- 6–8 years of experience in data management, metadata management, data governance, data modeling, or data catalog implementation.

- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Informatica EDC, CDGC, MCC, or related Informatica IDMC services.

- Experience working on data governance, data quality, cataloging, or enterprise data management programs.

- Robust analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.

- Ability to work with technical teams, business users, Data Stewards, Data Architects, and governance stakeholders to deliver metadata and cataloging outcomes.
