About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Loss Prevention Consultant to join our Asia Pacific Division, based in our Mumbai office. This is a full time, permanent position ideal for a qualified engineer eager to develop a specialized career in loss prevention engineering. As part of our team, you will play a pivotal role in assessing and mitigating risks associated with large commercial and industrial properties.
Your work will directly contribute to safeguarding client assets, preventing potential disasters, and ensuring operational resilience for some of the most prominent global businesses.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Working knowledge of construction practices, project execution, and assessment of flood, wind, and earthquake risks.
- 2–7 years of relevant experience, preferably with large EPC organizations, project or construction management firms, or engineering roles supporting large industrial facilities, petrochemical plants, or complex commercial projects.
- Field or site engineering experience, demonstrating hands-on knowledge of physical property assessments.
- Strong business acumen and project leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage deliverables and coordinate across teams.
- Willingness to travel and engage directly with clients, project teams, and site personnel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information.
- Analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills to evaluate risks and develop effective solutions.
- Efficient time management skills, capable of working independently and prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Technical proficiency across diverse engineering principles and familiarity with MS Office applications.
Responsibilities The Loss Prevention Consultant will undertake a variety of responsibilities aimed at assessing and reducing risks at client facilities. Your role will involve handling field visits, conducting site assessments, and preparing detailed reports to inform risk mitigation strategies. You will be expected to balance multiple tasks, including office-based analysis and on-site evaluations, requiring excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Initially, your activities will be structured to facilitate learning and understanding of FM’s standards and practices. You will receive extensive training to familiarize yourself with our methodologies, industry standards, and client engagement processes. As you gain experience, your responsibilities will expand to include assessing larger and more complex properties, performing detailed physical inspections, and evaluating potential hazards such as water supply vulnerabilities, chemical storage risks, dust hazards, and storage arrangements.
You will visit client sites to perform hands-on assessments of physical structures, including roofs and other critical infrastructure.
Your evaluations will include reviewing site water supplies, chemical storage facilities, dust hazards, and storage rack arrangements for client products. Throughout your work, you will follow FM Engineering Standards and communicate your findings and recommendations clearly to clients, ensuring they understand the engineering solutions proposed.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential, as you will need to effectively convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
Your role will involve collaborating with clients, project teams, and internal stakeholders to develop tailored risk management solutions that align with industry best practices and FM standards.
