Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the Finance & Accounts function of a growing real estate organization. The CFO will be responsible for financial strategy, project finance, cash-flow management, financial planning, MIS, taxation, compliance, banking relationships, fundraising, and risk management.

The ideal candidate should have strong exposure to the real estate / construction / infrastructure sector, with a proven ability to manage project-level finances and support senior management in strategic business decisions.

- Key Responsibilities1. Financial Strategy & LeadershipDevelop and execute the company's overall financial strategy aligned with business and growth objectives.
- Provide strategic financial insights to the CEO/MD and management team.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and long-term financial modelling.
- Evaluate new projects, investments, acquisitions, and business opportunities from a financial perspective.
- Establish strong financial controls, governance, and risk-management processes.
- 2. Real Estate Project FinanceManage financial planning and monitoring for ongoing and upcoming real estate projects.
- Prepare project-wise budgets, cost estimates, profitability analysis, and financial projections.
- Monitor project cash flows, construction costs, receivables, payables, and project profitability.
- Evaluate project feasibility, IRR, ROI, margins, break-even, and funding requirements.
- Work closely with Projects, Sales, Procurement, and Business teams to control project costs.
- 3. Cash Flow & Working Capital ManagementEnsure effective management of company and project-level cash flows.
- Prepare rolling cash-flow forecasts and identify funding gaps proactively.
- Optimize working capital and ensure timely collections and payments.
- Monitor customer receivables,



vendor liabilities, and project commitments.
- Ensure adequate liquidity for ongoing project execution.
- 4. Fundraising & BankingManage relationships with banks, NBFCs, financial institutions, investors, and other funding partners.
- Lead project financing, construction finance, working-capital facilities, and structured funding.
- Negotiate financing terms, interest rates, security structures, and credit facilities.
- Support equity/debt fundraising and investor discussions.
- Manage banking documentation, covenants, and compliance requirements.
- 5. Accounting, Taxation & ComplianceOversee accounting, financial reporting, statutory audits, internal audits, and taxation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable GST, Income Tax, Companies Act, RERA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Ensure timely closure of books and preparation of accurate financial statements.
- Coordinate with statutory auditors, tax consultants, legal advisors, and other external stakeholders.
- Strengthen internal controls and financial governance across the organization.
- 6. MIS & Management ReportingDevelop and implement robust financial MIS and reporting systems.
- Provide monthly and quarterly management reports covering revenue, costs, cash flow, profitability, receivables, payables, and project performance.
- Establish project-wise financial dashboards and KPIs.
- Highlight financial risks, deviations, and corrective actions to the management.
- 7. Commercial & Business SupportPartner with the CEO/MD on strategic and commercial decisions.
- Review contracts, commercial agreements, JV arrangements, and major vendor/customer commitments.
- Support pricing, sales strategy,



payment structures, and commercial negotiations.
- Evaluate joint ventures, land acquisitions, redevelopment opportunities, and other strategic investments.
- 8. Team & Process LeadershipLead and mentor the Finance & Accounts team.
- Build a high-performance finance function with clear processes and accountability.
- Drive automation and improvement of finance processes and reporting systems.
- Ensure strong coordination between Finance, Projects, Sales, Procurement, Legal, and Operations.
- Desired Candidate ProfileQualification: CA / CMA / MBA Finance preferred.
- Experience: Typically 15 years of progressive experience in Finance & Accounts, with significant experience in a senior finance leadership role.
- Strong preference for candidates with experience in Real Estate / Construction / Infrastructure / Property Development.
- Strong understanding of project finance, cash-flow management, financial modelling, taxation, banking, fundraising, and commercial finance.
- Experience managing finance for multiple real estate projects will be highly preferred.
- Robust leadership, negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management capabilities.
- Strong understanding of statutory and regulatory compliance applicable to the real estate sector.
