The Opportunity

Queen Elizabeth’s School, Gurugram is seeking a vigilant, responsible and technically competent CCTV Surveillance Operative to support the School’s security and safeguarding operations. The role will be responsible for continuous monitoring of CCTV systems, identifying and escalating security or safeguarding concerns, maintaining surveillance records, and ensuring the effective operation of the School’s CCTV infrastructure.

This is a key role in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors. The successful candidate will work closely with the Security, Facilities, IT, HR and School Leadership teams and will be required to exercise a high level of discretion, integrity and confidentiality at all times.

The Role

- Monitor live CCTV feeds across the School campus and other designated locations on a 24x7/shift basis.
- Identify and promptly escalate suspicious activity, security breaches, unauthorised access, safety concerns or unusual behaviour.
- Respond appropriately and immediately to incidents observed through CCTV monitoring,



following established School procedures.
- Conduct routine health checks of cameras, NVRs/DVRs, recording systems, storage and monitoring consoles.
- Identify and report camera outages, blind spots, recording failures and other technical issues.
- Coordinate with Security, IT, Facilities, vendors and relevant members of the School team for maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting.
- Monitor recording retention, storage utilisation and backup requirements.
- Retrieve and preserve CCTV footage in response to authorised requests or investigations, ensuring appropriate chain of custody and confidentiality.
- Maintain accurate daily surveillance logs, incident records, maintenance records and investigation reports.
- Prepare regular surveillance reports and highlight recurring security or operational concerns.
- Support investigations by providing relevant CCTV footage and factual observations when authorised.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of surveillance footage, student information, staff information and security-related records.
- Work collaboratively with security personnel and School leadership during emergencies, incidents or safeguarding concerns.
- Follow all School policies relating to safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, data protection and confidentiality.




- Undertake any other reasonable duties related to CCTV surveillance and School security as required.

The Person We are looking for an individual who is observant, calm under pressure, trustworthy and highly responsible, with the technical ability to operate and troubleshoot modern CCTV and surveillance systems.

Essential Skills & Experience

- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in CCTV monitoring, surveillance operations, security control room operations or a similar role.
- Experience working with CCTV systems, NVRs, DVRs, VMS and IP cameras.
- Familiarity with access control systems and alarm/security monitoring platforms.
- Good understanding of CCTV footage retrieval, storage management and evidence preservation.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for CCTV and associated security systems.
- Experience in a school, educational institution, corporate office, residential/commercial complex or similar environment would be desirable.
- Strong observation, attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to identify unusual activity and respond appropriately to incidents.
- Valuable written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare clear incident reports.
- Strong integrity, confidentiality and professional discretion.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness and ability to work rotational shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as required.

Qualifications

- Graduate degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Security Management, Electronics or a related discipline.
- Certification in CCTV Operations, Security Surveillance or Security Management will be an advantage.
