Category Leader - Functional Packaged Foods About the Opportunity Protein Chef is one of the most exciting consumer brands in India today. We're the leader in Functional Food brands, and India's 2nd most followed health food brand — built to make protein and functional nutrition part of everyday Indian meals. We've single handedly created the category of High-Protein Breads for breakfast in India, and we're now building out several more such defining categories in the Indian food space — across Snacks, Cookies, and Flours.

Each of these represents genuine white space in Indian food, and leading one of them means shaping how millions of Indians eat, not just capturing existing demand. We're backed by Rainmatter, one of the most respected names in India, alongside Mount Judy Ventures. We've grown more than 3x in the past 15 months, and we're looking to further accelerate this momentum as we expand across Quick Commerce, e Commerce, and beyond.

We're looking for individual Category Leaders to build out and own each of these categories end-to-end — from strategy to P&L; to team. This role, Category Leader for Functional Packaged Foods, will report to the CBO and be part of the core leadership team shaping how Protein Chef defines the next generation of Indian food categories.

What You Will Own Category Strategy

Understand the category and consumer landscape in depth, and build a clear strategy to expand market share — staying ahead of consumer trends, competitor moves, and platform dynamics, and translating that understanding into a category roadmap.

Platform Strategy

Make and execute month, quarter, and annual plans for each platform,



and own the business reviews — both internal and platform-facing — with clear insight and Platform Management & Growth Own revenue and growth across all channels — Quick Commerce and e Commerce. Drive the platform relationship end-to-end, and own performance marketing and budgets, working closely with supply chain to ensure availability never becomes a bottleneck to growth.forward action plans. P<ake; full ownership of your category's P&L;, working across Procurement, Production, Supply Chain, Advertising, and NPD to drive profitability and efficiency at every stage.

Current Product Development

Partner closely with the NPD team to build products that fill genuine gaps in the category and drive growth. You'll bring the market and consumer lens that shapes what gets built, and how it's positioned.

Team Leadership

Build and lead your own team of Key Account Managers (KAMs) — setting account-level targets, coaching execution, and building a high-ownership, data-driven culture.

Company Leadership

Be part of the core leadership team that helps shape the strategic direction of the overall company, beyond just your own category.

Ideal

Background4–6 years of experience owning a Quick Commerce or Category P&L;, either platform-side or brand-side.

Experience managing FMCG or D2 C food products at scale, with a solid grasp of category economics and channel dynamics. A track record of building and leading high-performing teams — hiring, coaching, and scaling. A strategic, commercially sharp operator and relationship builder — equally comfortable setting category strategy, earning trust with senior stakeholders, and getting into the weeds of execution.

The role is based out of Bengaluru and Reports into the CBO; along with directly working with the Founder.
