WHY THIS ROLE

We are looking for one Mandarin-speaking finance operations analyst to strengthen our India team and servicing clients across APAC and USA.

You will be a bilingual specialist inside a growing finance and procurement operations team serving US-headquartered clients. Several of our clients are expanding into China. Chinese vendor documents, fapiao, banking details, and vendor communications land on our desks, and we need someone who can read them, translate them, and speak with Chinese vendors directly.

You will also be the designated cross-cover for our broader account team — stepping in for AP, vendor onboarding, or SAP-adjacent work when a colleague is on leave, in a transition, or handling an escalation.

Buying Simplified is a US-headquartered procurement and finance operations firm. We run the finance and buying function for companies whose spend is growing faster than their teams — biotech and pharma, medical devices, semiconductor, technology, and business services.

Invoice processing, vendor onboarding, month-end close, procurement, SAP support — running inside our clients' own systems, to their own policies, as if we were their team. Clients keep us for years, through funding rounds, ERP migrations, and IPOs.

We also build our own AI. Our GenieWorks platform, built on Anthropic's Claude and AWS, sits on top of the work we deliver — including Chinese fapiao OCR and translation, invoice exception detection, and duplicate-payment prevention. You will use it every day, and what you tell us about it changes how it gets built.

WHAT YOU'LLWORK ON

Chinese-language finance operations

- Read and interpret Chinese fapiao, vendor invoices,



and banking documents
- Coordinate with Chinese vendors in Mandarin on invoice queries, banking verifications, and follow-ups
- Translate Chinese vendor communications, contracts, and invoice notes into English for US-based teams

Vendor onboarding — Chinese vendors

- Handle Chinese vendor onboarding documentation, KYC checks, and system setup
- Bridge Chinese-language documents into our standard onboarding workflow

Cross-cover across the account team

- Step in as backup for AP, vendor onboarding, or SAP-adjacent tasks when team members are on leave or in transition
- Maintain shadow-familiarity with adjacent workflows through documented SOPs and rotation

Working with our tools

- Use GenieWorks daily for fapiao OCR, translation, and duplicate detection
- Feed back what works and what doesn't, so the platform gets sharper on Chinese-language documents

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Non-negotiable

- Native or near-native Mandarin (Simplified Chinese) — reading, writing, and speaking. Assessed directly in the interview.
- 3–6 years in accounts payable, invoice processing, vendor onboarding, or finance operations
- Working knowledge of SAP or a comparable ERP for AP transactions
- Excellent English, written and spoken, at a level that holds its own with a US client stakeholder on an unscripted call
- Willing and able to work the morning shift (7 AM – 4 PM IST) to overlap with China business hours
- Detail orientation — invoice and vendor work is unforgiving of small errors
- Comfortable moving between different workflows and accounts as the week's demands shift

Strongly preferred





- Prior exposure to Chinese fapiao, Chinese GAAP, or China-side finance workflows
- Prior experience serving US clients from India — captive, GBS, shared services, or outsourced
- Understanding of China VAT, IIT withholding, or social insurance basics
- Comfort with AI tools in day-to-day work
- CA Inter, ICWA, MBA Finance, or equivalent

Who does well here

- Comfortable being the only bilingual person in the room. Your language skill is the reason a lot of the work happens. You know it, and you don't hide from it.
- Detail-obsessed. You catch the invoice number typo, the routing digit that's off by one, the date in the wrong format.
- Owns the outcome. "I processed the invoice" is not the same as "the vendor got paid on time." You know the difference.
- Curious across categories. You'd rather learn a current workflow than repeat a familiar one.
- Direct and calm across cultures. You move between Mandarin, English, and three time zones without dropping the thread.

LOCATION AND WORK STYLE

- Anywhere in India (Chennai Preferred). Fully remote. Our team hubs are in Chennai and Pune, but we are hiring the best Mandarin-speaking finance operator.
- Occasional travel to Chennai for team meetings and quarterly reviews.
- Occasional (rare, planned) travel to client locations, potentially including Shanghai.
