JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated US Audit Associate specializing in Employee Benefit Plan (EBP) audits. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on auditing retirement plans and other employee benefit plans. This role offers the chance to develop technical expertise, collaborate with a dynamic audit team, and gain exposure to diverse client industries.
SCOPE OF WORK
- Assist in the planning, execution, and completion of Employee Benefit Plan audits in compliance with ERISA, DOL, and IRS regulations.
- Perform audit procedures including testing participant data, contributions, distributions, and compliance with plan documents.
- Identify and resolve audit issues while maintaining audit documentation and working papers.
- Prepare financial statements, footnotes, and other required audit deliverables.
- Collaborate with senior auditors and managers to ensure the timely completion of engagements.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather information and clarify audit findings.
- Stay current on industry regulations and audit standards related to EBP audits.
- Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance technical skills and audit knowledge.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CA, CA-Inter, CMA, US CMA, CPA certification/qualification or progress toward certification/ qualification preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in public accounting with exposure to Employee Benefit Plan audits preferred.
- Understanding of ERISA, DOL, and IRS guidelines as they pertain to EBP audits.
- Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
