Role Description This is a full-time, in office Assistant Professor role in Journalism and Mass Communication based in Jalandhar. The role involves designing and delivering lectures, seminars, and practical sessions in areas such as journalism, broadcasting, multimedia, and mass communication.
The Assistant
Professor will guide students through assignments and projects, supervise internships and industry-focused activities, and support curriculum development in line with current media trends and academic standards.
Responsibilities include conducting research or creative media work,
publishing scholarly output, participating in academic committees, mentoring students in their academic and professional growth, and contributing to departmental events and outreach initiatives.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Journalism and Writing, with the ability to teach news reporting, feature writing, and media ethics.
- Candidates should possess skills in Broadcast Journalism and Broadcasting, including familiarity with newsroom processes, scriptwriting, and on-air presentation.
- Candidates should possess skills in Multimedia production, such as audio-visual content creation, digital storytelling, and basic editing tools.
- Postgraduate degree (preferably Ph.D. or enrollment in a Ph.D. program) in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a closely related field.
- Prior teaching, training, or industry experience in media or communication, with evidence of academic or qualified work.
- Strong classroom management, mentoring, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Familiarity with contemporary media platforms, digital tools, and emerging trends in news and content delivery.
- Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and continuous professional development in higher education.
