Function: Instrumentation & Control
Role Purpose
To lead the maintenance and reliability of Control & Instrumentation systems associated with the 205 TPH Gas-Fired Boiler, ensuring safe, reliable, and productive operation through effective preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead C&I; maintenance activities for the 205 TPH Gas-Fired Boiler and associated systems.
- Ensure reliable operation of field instrumentation including pressure, temperature, flow, level, DP and analytical instruments.
- Manage maintenance and troubleshooting of DCS, PLC, SCADA, HMI, control panels and communication systems.
- Ensure effective functioning of Boiler Management System (BMS), burner controls, interlocks, permissives, trips and protection systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot control valves, actuators, positioners, solenoid valves and associated instrumentation.
- Monitor and optimize control loops, PID parameters, alarms and sequence logic.
- Ensure calibration and health of critical instruments related to gas flow, combustion, furnace pressure, drum level, steam and feedwater systems.
- Plan and execute preventive, predictive and shutdown maintenance activities.
- Analyse recurring failures through RCA and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with Operations, Mechanical and Electrical teams for troubleshooting and resolution of plant issues.
- Lead commissioning, modification and upgradation of C&I; systems as required.
- Ensure availability of critical C&I; spares and effective inventory management.
- Maintain equipment history,
calibration records, maintenance reports and technical documentation.
- Drive automation, reliability, energy-efficiency and process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure strict compliance with PTW, LOTO, safety procedures and statutory requirements.
- Lead and develop the C&I; maintenance team and contractor workforce.
Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech in Instrumentation & Control / Electronics & Instrumentation / Electronics Engineering.
- Diploma with substantial relevant experience may also be considered.
Experience
- 8–12 years of relevant C&I; maintenance experience in a power plant, steel plant, process industry or other continuous-process industry.
- Experience in boiler C&I; maintenance, particularly gas-fired boilers, will be preferred.
- Hands-on experience with DCS/PLC, BMS, field instrumentation and control valves is essential.
