Each team member holds a clear specialization—such as country expertise, scholarships, visas, or SOPs—and works with students end-to-end, from the first counseling conversation to the admission offer. DegreeCrafters does not operate on commission-based college placements, prioritizing genuine student outcomes over sales targets. Since its founding, the organization has guided more than 1,000 students and helped secure over ₹5Cr in scholarships, with a robust emphasis on accuracy, detail, and authentic student representation.

Role Description The Admissions Counselor role is a full-time, on-site position based in Indore. The counselor will guide students through academic and study-abroad options, from initial discovery calls to final application submission, ensuring advice is accurate, transparent, and tailored to each student’s goals.

Daily responsibilities include explaining entrance exams and program requirements, shortlisting colleges and courses, tracking deadlines, coordinating documentation, and supporting scholarship and visa processes. The role also involves conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, maintaining detailed records in internal systems, collaborating with team specialists on complex cases,



and participating in workshops or webinars for prospective students. The counselor will be expected to manage a pipeline of students, follow up proactively, and contribute to continuous improvement of counseling processes without quota-driven sales pressure.

Qualifications

- Strong Interpersonal Communication and general Communication skills to build trust, explain complex information clearly, and conduct effective one-on-one counseling sessions.
- Demonstrated Customer Service ability, including patience, empathy, and responsiveness when working with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Comfort with ethical Sales practices, such as presenting services, handling inquiries, and encouraging informed decisions without high-pressure tactics.
- Background or strong interest in Education, admissions processes, or academic counseling, with the ability to understand entrance exams, eligibility criteria, and international study pathways.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, including tracking multiple deadlines, maintaining accurate records, and handling concurrent student cases.
- Proficiency with basic productivity tools (e.g., spreadsheets, documents, online forms) and willingness to learn internal CRM or case-management systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; degrees in Education, Psychology, Management, or related fields are an advantage.
- Prior experience in admissions counseling, career guidance, or related student-facing roles is preferred but not mandatory; a detail-oriented, outcome-focused mindset is essential.
