Role Purpose

The Assistant Manager – Assembly will oversee daily assembly line operations, ensuring that Submersible, Sludge, Sewage, Slurry, and Diesel Engine-Driven Pumps are assembled, tested, and dispatched according to production targets and quality standards. This role requires a balance of shop-floor technical oversight, team supervision, and inter-departmental coordination.

Key Responsibilities
- Assembly Line Management: Plan and manage day-to-day assembly schedules to hit daily production and despatch targets.
- Technical Oversight: Supervise complex assembly processes, including diesel engine coupling, shaft alignment, and mechanical seal fitting for industrial pumps.
- Manpower & Work Allocation: Allocate tasks to assembly technicians and contract workers, monitor productivity, and maintain shop-floor discipline.
- Quality & Testing Alignment: Work with the QC team to ensure 100% compliance with pump pressure testing and performance specifications before packing.
- Material & Inventory Coordination:



Liaise with the Stores and Purchase departments to ensure timely availability of components and prevent line stoppages.
- Shop-Floor Safety & 5S: Maintain safety standards, proper tool handling, and cleanliness (5S) across the assembly area.

Key Requirements
- Education: BE / B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical / Production Engineering.
- Experience: 4 to 7 years of hands-on experience in Pump Manufacturing or Heavy Mechanical Assembly (with 2+ years leading a team).
- Technical Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of Submersible and Diesel-Driven Dewatering Pumps.
- Ability to read assembly drawings, tolerances, and technical specifications.
- Basic exposure to ERP/Tally systems for production entry and stock tracking.
- Core Competencies: Solid team handling skills, problem-solving ability under tight despatch timelines, and good communication skills (Tamil & English).
