An Azure System Administrator manages, monitors, and secures an organizations cloud computing infrastructure on Microsoft Azure. Key duties include provisioning virtual machines, configuring virtual networks, managing user identities via Microsoft Entra ID, implementing backup and recovery plans, and optimizing cloud costs and system performance

Key Responsibilities
- Compute & Infrastructure: Deploy, size, scale, and monitor virtual machines (Windows and Linux), containers, and app services. [1, 2]
- Identity & Access Management: Administer Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), enforce role-based access control (RBAC), and manage multi-factor authentication. [1, 2, 3]
- Virtual Networking: Configure virtual networks (VNets), subnets,



network security groups (NSGs), VPN gateways, and site-to-site connectivity. [1, 2]
- Storage & Data Management: Implement and secure storage accounts, blobs, and disk storage configurations. [1, 2, 3]
- Backup & Disaster Recovery: Design, test, and maintain automated backup solutions, disaster recovery, and data replication via Azure Site Recovery. [1]
- Monitoring & Cost Optimization: Track system health using Azure Monitor, analyze logs, and right-size resources to control cloud spending. [1, 2]
- Automation: Streamline routine tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and infrastructure templates (Bicep or ARM). [1, 2]
